We’re so excited to introduce two new additions to our Chesterfield County Young Life staff team! 🎉
Please join us in welcoming Jed Hampton, who will be serving as Staff Associate and starting ministry at Monacan High School, and Gio Martino, Student Staff, who will be serving at Cosby High School!
We can’t wait to see how God uses them in the lives of students in our community. Welcome to the team, Jed and Gio!
“I am from Greensboro, NC, where I got involved with Young Life in high school when some friends asked me to hop in their minivan right before Club my freshman year. Through my involvement with Young Life in high school, I met the Lord, and after graduation, I decided I wanted to have a similar impact on the lives of high school students that my leader, Shawn Melton, had on me. I went to Hampden-Sydney College and became a volunteer Young Life Leader at Randolph-Henry High School. Leading at RH was very difficult at times, and I realized that if it wasn’t for the love of Christ compelling me to lead and love teenagers, it would be easy to step away. I’m so eager to take this next step on Young Life staff. I’m not only passionate about loving teenagers for the sake of the Gospel, but I feel called to recruit and equip volunteers, encourage community advocates, and use my role to facilitate more ministry than I could ever do on my own.”
“I was born and raised in Richmond, though my family is originally from New York and I spend a lot of time up there. I got heavily involved in Young Life my senior year of high school, and since I wasn’t looking to go out of town for college, I was really excited about the possibility of coming on part-time staff with Young Life in the area and becoming a Young Life Leader. I made this decision because Young Life is where I learned what it looks like to have a personal relationship with Jesus, and I want to offer kids in the same position that same opportunity.”
