Morgan Safenet Morgan Safenet Foundation, Inc started up in October of 2013. On April 29, 2014, MSN became an official 501(c)(3) non-profit entity.

MSN's mission is to help promote the breed, prevent the need for rescue by assisting owners, trainers, breeders and the Amish market giving a network for their lower price point horses: educate, raise awareness and promote the versatility of the breed The Morgan Safenet Foundation's (MSN) mission is to promote the Morgan horse breed, preventing the need for rescue. MSN's accomplishes this by assis

ting owners, trainers, breeders and the Amish market with a network for their lower price point horses. Through education, raising awareness and promotion of the versatility of the Morgan, MSN is an alternative to auction that attracts new owners while encouraging and promoting stewardship, responsibility and synergy of efforts within the Morgan breed through intentional philanthropy. Promote the Morgan Horse - Prevent the need for rescue - Preserve responsibility and the breed foundation. There are very few organizations devoted to marketing of what has commonly been referred to as "not enough horse". These are typically the lower price point Morgans suitable for the entry level equestrian. The Morgan breed is versatile and family oriented. By nature, they are smart, willing, forgiving and please people. They fill a void and encourage new people to the breed who may have never considered owning a Morgan before. Aggressive marketing is essential to enthusiasts inside and outside the Morgan community. Much of what we hear about the fate of the Morgan horse includes words of rescue, slaughter, donate, and adopt. Too few people hear about their heart, athleticism and versatility or see them as viable options. Please visit morgansafenet.com for details and current horses available through resale or adoption. UPDATE: I have spoken with the buyer. She’s safe with a reputable Morgan breeder.

If the person who purchased this mare is willing to reach out I would appreciate it. There is a very concerned former owner. Thanks 240-529-3066

It's almost time. Another Morgan Sale around the corner. 140 consigned. With a breed as versatile and trainable as the Morgan is more should want to take advantage of these opportunities. The horses should have more choice than the breeding shed, road horse or main arena show ring. So much potential for prospects in any other area; jumping, trail, carriage, pleasure, reining, dressage...the list goes on. Yet many stay and maintain the same rolls.

I have my pics and if you're a subscriber I'll share. If you have never done this before the hardest part is making it through the bidding process. After that it's a walk in the park and most are willing to help you in many ways.

Life is short. Buy the dam horse.

The burden of a good animal steward.

It is often carried silently and heavily.
You alone have had the strength and wisdom to make the hardest of all decisions for the best choice.

You stood with them till the end.
And as they passed only then was that burden released.
Just like their freedom.
Even though a part of you still carries grief as they take a piece of you with them.
On their final journey home.

And you... you take this token of them...to cherish their
memory.
And maybe ease the burden you feel from their loss.

Choices you had to make. That should have been another's responsibility before they came to you. But left for you to make.

Choices that don't often make sense but should be normalized not shamed.

I don't look for pity. I look for change.
Normalize euthanasia as an option.
For the sake of the horse.

Dear followers;

Today is March 21st, 2026 and in true "Go Daddy" fashion our original site disappeared. It will take some time to rebuild. Please be patient. For now here are the core links and if you have questions please don't hesitate to email or call. For now there is a basic landing page with our info and ways to donate. Sorry for the inconvenience.

EKL Rich Sambora made it to VA!!

Big shout out to Annika Stoldt who gave this very deserving boy a soft spot to land after some very dedicated family years! I know he is in wonderful hands and will get the best care in the time he's there. He is very deserving of some golden days and MSN alumni Bert and Ernie are there to help him integrate. I am very thankful for dedicated fosters such as Annika who can help give alternatives to these special horses. His story could have been very different.

Special thanks to Brett and Cody of Silver Thistle Farm Livestock Transport for getting him there safely!

STILL AVAILABLE 9/23/25

Morgan Safenet Foundation (MSN) a 501(c)3 organization, founded in 2013 has worked hard to establish a relationship with the Amish community who have been considering rehoming or retiring their horses. The mission is to place these horses back into an industry or job where they are able to serve and prevent the need for rescue later. The goal being to reduce the necessity of the auction cycle and having them picked up by brokers or traders willing to ship them to Mexico or Canada, most being detached from their identity and just being lost to the breed. We are proud of the positive impact we have had.

But the importance of this work seems to be getting lost in the calls of drama to pull from brokers threatening to ship. How do you think this cycle starts? When no calls come. When no interest happens. When there is no follow through on a healthy Morgan horse, some are left with no choice but to utilize auction.

This boy is 15yrs old and well cared for. He’s not asking a lot and he’d probably negotiate to a good home. Gelding an older stallion is very doable. MSN has proven that time and time again.

But here he is with no interest. No calls. And I guess that’s the scary part of the industry. Because there will be others. We will get more calls. We will share.

That is all we can do at present with lack of financial support. Buying them all is not the answer. They need people to step up.
