Today is the day! The MLK Unity March will start at Midlothian Sports Complex at 10:00am and conclude at FMC Midlothian where we will march into our celebration service starting at 10:30am. We hope to see you there!

ATTENTION MIDLOTHIAN! Our Unity March and our Celebration Service have been officially rescheduled for SATURDAY FEBRUARY 3!

The Unity March will begin at 10:00am at the Midlothian Sports Complex and end at FMC Midlothian where we will begin our Celebration Service at 10:30am. Following the celebration service there will be food trucks with lunch available for purchase so we can continue to celebrate and fellowship.

We will also have our 2024 Midlo MLK Day T-Shirts available for purchase at the celebration service for $10! All proceeds from the sale of these shirts goes towards the MLK Dream Scholarship fund.

Our day of service is underway! This group of volunteers is packing boxes of food for those experiencing homelessness at the Ellis County Homeless Coalition. Each box will feed 2-3 people for 3-4 days without the need for refrigeration or heating.

Join us tomorrow night at One Church for SELMA! The evening will begin at 5:30 with a voter registration information session and the opportunity to register to vote. Then, at 7:00pm we will have a screening of the movie SELMA, followed by a discussion of the movie. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase and all proceeds will go the MLK Dream Scholarship fund. We hope to see you there!

Mayor Justin Coffman presented a proclamation to a group of citizens who have organized this coming weekend's celebration for 2024 Martin Luther King, Jr., Day in Midlothian during last night's City Council meeting. Leading the group is Pastor Demetrius McClendon of One Church, who detailed events that include a free movie night on Fri. 1/12, at 5:30 p.m., and a community day of service on Sat., 1/13, 9 a.m., both at One Church, NOTE: DUE TO WEATHER, the DAY OF REMEMBRANCE AND THE UNITY WALK HAVE BEEN POSTPONED TILL FEB. The Annual MLK Day of Remembrance on Sun., 1/14, at 6 p.m. at First Baptist Church, and a Unity March on Mon., 1/15, at 10 a.m., from the Sports Complex to First Methodist Church. Said Mayor Coffman, "I urge all Midlothian citizens to act for the future betterment of our community and join Texans in honoring and celebrating Dr. King's life and teachings by serving their community."
