ACTS International Prospectus

Who we are:
The idea for ACTS International began in 2008 during a short term Christian mission trip to Debre Birhan, Ethiopia where extreme poverty, lack of education, and inability to secure gainful employment are the norm. Our initial endeavor provided sponsorships to enable very poor students in the area to attend the Debre Birhan Technical College. Our Ministry

has now expanded to include providing Sunday school materials to the Mulu Wongel Full Gospel Believers Church in Debre Birhan, outreach to AIDS widows, vision clinics, and soon, a new ministry with an existing AIDS orphans outreach. ACTS Board of Directors is comprised of a church assistant, a schoolteacher, two small business owners, and a church janitor. Each of us has a passion to improve the lives of poor students through educational scholarships. In addition to monthly communication via phone and social media, we travel to Ethiopia once or twice a year. We are forming relationships with the students, the church, and the community that go beyond a simple financial commitment. We use 100% of all donated funds for ministry in Ethiopia. No member of ACTS Ethiopia receives any compensation- all are volunteers. The members of the ACTS Board of Directors sponsor students, and each Board member donates to the Ministry. We personally cover any expenses incurred here in the U.S. (such as permits, office supplies, travel expenses, etc.). Why we are:
Half of the children in Ethiopia will never attend school. Of those who do attend school, greater than 90% will be unable to attend college. Nine out of every ten students fortunate to have any education will finish with only a rudimentary understanding of reading, writing and arithmetic. They will, however, have little to no practical training. ACTS was formed to help empower very poor students to become self-sustaining by learning a practical job skill. As long as there is an opportunity to serve and be in relationship helping the poor students, widows, and children there, ACTS will continue to return to Ethiopia. ACTS has gained the respect of the Debre Birhan community and its leaders through our multiple outreach programs. Why invest in ACTS International? We feel called to be God’s hands and feet in Debre Birhan, Ethiopia. Many people cannot go, so we look for partners who will believe and invest in our ministry. No donation is too small. Will you invest with ACTS to make a positive change for some of the poorest of the poor living in one of the most impoverished countries on Earth? Thank you in advance for taking the time to read our brief company profile and for considering an opportunity to partner with us! Please visit the ACTS International page to see pictures and updates about our ministry. Sincerely,

Happy Happy New Year to our Ethiopian Brothers and Sisters!!

10/30/2019

We are looking forward to returning to Ethiopia on November 12! We desire to follow God as we renew relationships, meet new friends, and serve Him by serving others.

Hi Friends!! Can we ask you today to join us in prayers of safety for our brother Z? We have known him since he was a 10 year old shoeshine boy on the streets of Debre Birhan, and now he is a young man serving as a peacekeeper in the Ethiopian army...he has been posted in a very dangerous army camp in Somalia, and could really use our prayers of protection!! Thanks folks, y'all are the best!!

In just under a month we will be returning to Ethiopia after a 4+ year absence-can we ask you to pray in advance of the trip, that relationships would be renewed, others repaired, and through it all, that God would be glorified? Thanks friends!!

Hi Gang, wondering if you would help us out with by clicking on the attached link and voting for West End Thrift?? Last year we spent a significant amount of money with Valpak, trying to increase awareness of the store...we were surprised at how few coupons were redeemed with such a broad area mailed to.... A few weeks after that, y'all voted us Best Thrift Store, and we put that on our big sign out front-the increased traffic that was generated by the sign and free pub was AMAZING!! Won't you please take a second to vote today-your one minute spent not only can save us advertising dollars, but will be helping Missions in a great way!! Thanks so much!!

It's time to pick your favorites in food, drink, arts, culture and more!
