Pepper’s life has not been easy.
After losing her original owners, she ended up neglected, chained outside, untreated for medical issues, and eventually surrendered again through no fault of her own.
But despite everything, Pepper still loves deeply.
She’s goofy, emotionally intuitive, obsessed with her stuffed octopus, and happiest simply being near her people.
Pepper isn’t a “go everywhere” dog. She’s looking for something quieter:
🤍 a calm home
🤍 patient humans
🤍 continued confidence-building
🤍 someone willing to see the beautiful dog underneath the fear
And for the person willing to give her that chance?
She will love you with her whole heart.

Shelby is a 2½-year-old spayed lab mix looking for a home of her own. ❤️

This sweet, calm girl loves spending time outdoors and relaxing with her people. She forms strong bonds with those she trusts and has a loyal, gentle nature. Shelby especially loves women and can be a little cautious around men at first, but with patience and kindness, she continues to gain confidence.

Shelby would do best as the only dog in the home where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves. Cats are unknown.

“Share Grits’s story to spread a little peace and kindness today.”

Hi there — I’m Grits.
I’ve been hanging out with Lab Rescue for a year now, and honestly, it’s been a good life. I’m calm, gentle, and never a bother. I like to think of myself as the quiet observer — the guy who takes it all in and appreciates the simple things.

I’m on a little anti‑inflammatory for my old‑age arthritis, but don’t let that fool you — my mobility is good. I get up and down just fine, and I still play with the other dogs like it’s no big deal. I might need a boost to get into the car, but once I’m in, I’m ready for the ride.

I love spending time in the yard, watching the world go by. I’m not pushy or loud — just steady company. People say I’m a pleasure to be around, and I think that’s because I bring a little calm wherever I go.

If you’re looking for a loyal friend who’s happy to share quiet moments and easy days, I’m your guy.

MEET GINGER — THE SWEET, SPIRITED CHOCOLATE LAB LOOKING FOR HER MATCH!

Hi there! I’m Ginger, a 2‑year‑old Chocolate Lab with a shiny coat, soulful eyes, and a heart full of love. I’m 49 lbs of energy, affection, and goofy charm — the kind of girl who’ll make you smile every single day.

🐾 About Me

• Social butterfly: I adore other dogs and love to play tug, chase, and wrestle. I’m vocal when I play — I “talk” to my friends but never growl.

• Confident & friendly: I’ve never met a stranger! I greet everyone with a wag and a sparkle in my eyes.

• Smart cookie: I know sit, stay, easy, and no. I’m eager to please and melt when you tell me I’m a good girl.

• High‑energy sweetheart: I’m happiest when I can run, play, and explore. A fenced yard (at least 5 feet!) is a must.

• Lover, not a lounger: I’m affectionate and love cuddles, but I’m no couch potato. I’ll curl up at your feet after a day of fun.

My Ideal Match

I’m looking for an active family who enjoys walks, playtime, and laughter. A playful dog sibling would be amazing! I’m not a fan of cats (they’re just too tempting to chase), but I’m great with older kids who can handle my enthusiasm.

Fun Facts

• I sleep soundly through the night — snoring included!

• I love ice cubes and milk bones.

• I’m a pro at leash walks and travel beautifully in the car.

• My tail wags faster than you can say “fetch!”

Quick Highlights:

• Dog friendly & loves to play

• Not cat friendly

• Kid friendly (best with 7+)

• Active higher energy

• Needs secure fencing 5 ft or taller

Ginger is a joyful, loving companion just waiting for the right home to keep up with her zest for life.

🐾Meet Buddy!🐾

• 7 years old, 78 lbs, Medium Energy
• Dog Friendly: Yes
• Cat Friendly: No (will chase cats)
• Kid Friendly: Yes, wonderful with children of all ages
• Home Needs: Fenced yard recommended, best in a home with room to stretch his legs, enjoys daily walks and family time

Meet Buddy, a handsome black Lab mix whose tail seems to wag from morning until night! At 7 years old, Buddy has perfected the art of being the ideal companion—playful when it’s time for fun, calm when it’s time to relax, and always ready to share his enormous heart. This affectionate boy loves nothing more than being close to his people. Whether he’s curling up beside you on the couch, riding shotgun on a road trip, or greeting visitors with his signature happy wiggles, Buddy makes everyone feel like his best friend.

Buddy is incredibly social with other dogs and has a gentle, easygoing nature that makes him a joy to have around. He’s wonderfully patient with children and has spent years happily living alongside kids who cuddled with him, played with him, and even napped beside him.

His favorite things include long walks, swimming, chewing on a good bone, and enthusiastically “de-stuffing” plush toys. While he would prefer a cat-free home, Buddy is otherwise ready to fit into just about any loving family looking for a loyal, affectionate companion. If you’re searching for a best friend who will greet you every day with a wagging tail, soulful eyes, and endless devotion, Buddy is waiting to meet you.

“Navigating Life Together: Gus’s Beautiful Journey”

A couple years ago a friend shared on Facebook a post pleading for an adopter for an older, blind and deaf dog named Hawking. We had recently lost our 14-year-old Great Pyrenees, and our hearts were still heavy. We were in no way looking to rescue another dog yet. But for some reason, I couldn’t get this dog out of my mind. A week after seeing the post, I told my husband I had to check on him. In my mind, no one else would adopt a senior, blind, and deaf dog if we didn’t. His first comment was that we didn’t know anything about blind OR deaf dogs, but he quickly came to the conclusion we would just figure it out! And we did.

Hawking, or as he would come to be called, Gus, was still available. LRGR brought him to our home and the connection was immediate! We figured out navigating stairs and it wasn’t long before he was navigating our house like he’d lived here all his life. The challenges were there, but the rewards FAR OUTWEIGHED them.

His nose rivaled any bloodhound. He could find me anywhere! I could be cooking and he would slip up behind me and just lean against my legs. He would find me in the backyard swing, and his favorite spot was snoozing beside me on the couch. While it was clear that Gus needed us, we realized that Gus filled a hole in our lives and we needed him too!

We had him almost 2 years before he died, but we wouldn’t trade those two years for anything! Gus made such a wonderful impact on our whole family, he taught us a lot about love and overcoming challenges, and he will always hold a special place in my heart.

I would encourage everyone to look past the challenges and welcome the love and happiness that awaits.

His story proves that when we open our hearts, we find the most extraordinary connections.
