Team Abundance is excited to welcome Noah Kester of Colonial Plumbing to our team. Noah has already been a great resource and referral partner to our members, and we're grateful to have him join us each week.

ReMi Doyle & Emily Sedlar of River City Lending took us back to the beginning with a brief history of the company and reinforced the value they bring to home buyers. They're more than just a lender. They really care about financial health and planning.

Mark Erickson of Retex Roofing & Exteriors went around the room asking each member to choose one: tell a story, share some gratitude, tell a joke, or celebrate a win. This was a great way to make each of us smile and remember to always think of the positive in life.

And our new member, Noah Kester of Colonial Plumbing, introduced us to their history. A multi-generational family-owned business, Colonial really invests in building relationships. In fact, many of their team members have been with the company 10, 20, or even more years! And their customers always appreciate a friendly face in their most stressful moments. Noah also shared some helpful tips on how to attract and keep long-term employees.

Each week, we hear from two of our members. Recently, Mark Erickson of Retex Roofing & Exteriors showed us examples of common roof problems. He shared how they happen and even gave tips on how to avoid them. Retex offers quick and easy inspections along with same day quotes!

We also heard from ReMi Doyle of River City Lending last week for our Mentor Moment. ReMi talked about role clarity vs role purpose. Don’t be afraid to adapt to people’s strengths. But also help your team know it’s not role clarity but instead role purpose. Everyone wants to win. They just might take a different path.

Team Abundance has enjoyed 4 excellent presentations the past two weeks! If you are looking to grow your business and expand your referral network, we'd love to meet you.

When you visit our professional networking group, you'll get to hear from two members each week. Our Member Spotlight gives each member extra time to teach us how to give a strong referral to their business. We often learn about their industry, service offerings, special features, the process, and more. We become a natural member of their sales team. In our Mentor Moment, one of our members gets to help us keep our blades sharp with a piece of education or motivation.

Recently, Kristin Murphy, EXP Realtor talked about the latest real estate market trends and helped us understand all the buzz around realtor commission changes.

In another Spotlight, Keith Miller wowed us with a couple of live demonstrations of some fun features built into his all-in-one cloud based communications solutions.

To round out our meetings, Keith Miller and special guest, Nick Springer made an impact with their Mentor Moments. Keith reminded us that partnering with competitors can be win/win. Win together; never lose alone. And Nick talked about being prepared for all client interactions. Anticipate your client's needs to provide the excellent customer experience they deserve.

The trivia fun continued as Drew Clements and Joe Collins of Independence Golf Club quizzed us on unique, fun facts about their business. Member Spotlights are designed for team members to help the rest us learn more about their business making it easier to refer business. This recent trivia trend is a fun way to teach the info while also helping it stick.

Kristin Murphy, EXP Realtor made an impactful Mentor Moment when she shared a story of how she helped a client years ago who was struggling to find a realtor to take him seriously. By helping him when nobody else would, Kristin has had the privilege of representing him and and his family in multiple home transactions.

We got to hear two powerful presentations last week.

Lacie Burroughs and Andrew Garner from SouthState Bank developed a trivia game complete with prizes. It was competitive, informative, and so much fun. It was an effective way to help us understand how to better refer their banking service.

Then, we heard from Joe Collins and Drew Clements from Independence Golf Club for our Mentor Moment. Joe pulled out a white board to illustrate his message about the different "friend" buckets we all have fulfilled by someone in our life - the hospitable, spiritual, covenant, confidant, and hitman friend. And then, he flipped the board (literally) and challenged us to think about it in reverse. How do we fulfill these buckets for others?

Last week, Brad Lowry of CBRE showed us a summary of his commercial real estate transactions from 2023. He highlighted the wide range of clients he serves from standard leasing to full development projects. We also heard from Shannon Adee of Spark Solutions for our Mentor Moment. Shannon shared how her team evaluates risk in the business by categorizing each risk into a quadrant with a mitigation plan assigned to each.

We also keep our blades sharp with a piece of education or motivation. We recently heard from Carter King of Priority Title and Escrow. We have a choice in life to adopt an abundance mindset or a scarcity mindset. Carter presented a typical life scenario and sprinkled some humor into his delivery and had us all walking away with gratitude and a good attitude.

This powerful, fun duo shared more about the differences between borrowing from banks, brokers, and independent mortgage lenders. ReMi and Emily are independent lenders with a unique balance between flexible, robust lending programs and fantastic customer service. They are passionate about financial education and are great resources to guide you in a home buying or refinance process.

We also heard from Paul Jefferson of Jefferson Detail for our Mentor Moment. Short but powerful, Paul gave some advice on incorporating the 3 Cs. Choice, Chance, and Change - You must make the choice to take a chance if you want to make a change!

Last week, Mulch Man RVA, Mr. Tim Chambliss taught us some new things about his mulch business. Did you know that landscaping fabric isn't necessary because weeds grow from the top? We pull those weeds and the seeds fall and spread. The best way to kill weeds is to spray them, let them die, and then cover them with mulch. Who knew?

In our Mentor Moment, we learned about how to be more efficient with our time from Ben Handzel of Restoration 1 Richmond South.

Happy New Year! Team Abundance finished out 2023 with nearly $1.3M in closed business from Two Twelve Referrals. What an amazing year!

Our friends at Independence Golf Club welcomed us back to start 2024 off right. We invited our an honorary member, Tom Leahy of Optimum Ed to present our Member Spotlight. Tom walked us what it looks like to have your teen or young adult work with Optimum Ed to find their best bath forward post-high school.

Tim Chambliss wowed us all with a story of how he starts his days with intention. Tim shared a story of how his grandmother used to say a particular prayer, and Tim modified that prayer and starts every day in prayer before he even starts his car. What a great reminder to take a moment to get the day started off with positivity. Thank you, Tim!
