USW Rapid Response activists have contributed to major victories in the last several years, including:

👉 Securing historic infrastructure investments that also created tens of thousands of jobs at USW workplaces and beyond.
👉 Saving the pensions of more than a million American workers, including 100,000 Steelworkers.
👉 Getting legislation enacted in at least 15 states to support military veterans.

“This team makes sure union members’ voices are heard loud and clear in Washington and across the country,” said International Vice President Amber Miller, who has overseen the program since 2019.

The Tentative Agreement between USW Local 12075-00 (Midland, MI) and Dow was ratified by the membership this evening with 78% of the membership voting. The new contract will go into effect on Tuesday, February 10th.

USW fighting to keep critical government agencies that are key to worker health and safety.

When the current administration tried to kill two federal agencies critical for worker safety, union members refused to give up the fight.

They forced the administration to back down from its plan to gut the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) and prompted Congress to continue funding for the Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board.
