- $50 helps plant trees along the Cedar River
- $100 supports Salmon in the Classroom
- $350 sponsors a camper for Michigan Trout Unlimited Youth Camp

Tomorrow is Give Local Midland. Our chapter is asking you for help because Every River Needs a Champion. The LPM chapter champions the Cedar River in Gladwin, Michigan. With your support, we can continue to protect, preserve and restore to ensure that this cold-water resource is protected.

Consider donating to our chapter, where every dollar donated goes to the LPM endowment fund. This sustainable fund will continue to grow, allowing us to continue towards our mission. A Salmon in the Classroom school, Helmlock Middle School, is releasing its salmon smolt this Saturday at the Tridge in Midland from 10 a.m. to noon. Feel free to swing by and see the smiling faces of students who have spent the last couple of months raising their salmon from fertilized eggs. Students will watch and hope that their fish make it out to the big lake.

A quote from a board member: "You might want to tie up some silvery, 2-3” streamers and fish after the release, since the kids will be chumming up those smallies while releasing those salmon smolt."

Stream sampling is a great way to monitor the water quality of the Cedar River. Sign up to help gather macroinvertebrates with LFC on May 16!

If you can't make it on the 16th, they are hosting a bug identification night on the 18th. Our chapter has been invited to help tie some flies alongside the identification. We need a couple extra vices and people to help tie flies! If you are interested in helping out, send us an email at [email protected].

We are scoping out sites for a small parking lot and new hiking trails at the Chapter’s Property. It was a beautiful day to be near the stream.
