The Greenwood VFD would like to express our deepest condolences on the loss of an Odessa firefighter today.

Lord, please be with his family during this difficult time and surround them with Your love, comfort, and strength. We also ask that You place Your loving hands over all of Odessa Fire and Rescue as they grieve the loss of one of their own.

To the injured firefighters, please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers, and we pray for your full and speedy recovery.

Our hearts are broken whenever we lose a brother or sister in the fire service. May we all continue to stand together and support one another through this tragedy.

The Greenwood VFD, along with the Midland TX Fire Department, were called out to a vehicle fire last night on East Hwy 80. This vehicle had no license plates on it, so it's a possible stolen vehicle. Please lock your vehicles. Stay safe.

The Greenwood VFD would like to congratulate Georgia Boy Dakota Hyde on making it through his six-month probation period. He completed all classes and worked hard for our amazing community. Welcome aboard, Firefighter Dakota Hyde.

Six of our Greenwood Fire Firefighters started the Fire Academy today. For the next five months, they will be working for their Firefighter 1 and 2 certifications. We are so proud of these guys for their dedication to the Greenwood VFD and to our amazing community. Go Gettem fellas.

The Greenwood VFD, along with the Midland TX Fire Department and the Northeast Volunteer Fire Department, just got off a big tank battery fire 🔥 off FM 715, got it knocked out. All are safe on location.
