Yeriwah conversation started in the office of Dr. Satish Nayak with Famara Singhateh over a meeting in early 2015. It was Dr. Nayak’s vision to advance healthcare and improve the health conditions of the people in developing countries with focus on underserved and vulnerable people. The idea is to make yearly or bi-annual short term medical mission trips and help bring healthcare to the doors of u
nderserved and vulnerable people. It soon gathered momentum and Mass Cham and Omar Njie who both had knowledge in community work also join the effort. Dr. Nayak, Famara Singhateh, Mass Cham and Omar Njie all have background within the charity sector and they used their knowledge and skills to build on the vision of Dr. Nayak and after multiple meetings and conference calls, on December 11, 2015 Yeriwah Mega Foundation was formed. YERIWAH’s model includes short term medical mission trips to developing countries. Provision of free medical care and surgical care. Organizing visiting programs of health professionals to provide training, education, share knowledge and advance health and wellness. Establish charitable health clinics and urgent health care centers in order to enhance preventative care and treat a variety of health conditions. Make healthcare more available and accessible to rural areas in developing countries. Establish beneficial networks and partnerships with charitable organizations, hospitals and health centers. Promote health and culture and help build the capacity of rural areas to be leaders in their own health and development. How You Can Assist and Participate: Yeriwah Mega Foundation has a pending 501(c) (3) tax exempt status application. 99% of all donations goes to the people. We do not have salaried staff and all of our board members are volunteers. Mission trip volunteers pay for their travel and expenses. YMF pays for the cost of providing care. You can participate by joining our efforts in getting healthcare to the doors of under-served and vulnerable people in developing countries. We appreciate any amount of donations. Medical professionals are encouraged to donate their time and services. We also appreciate donations of medications, medical equipment’s and hospital supplies.
