Midland Teen Court

Midland Teen Court Midland Teen Court is a non-profit organization that provides educated guidance through the justice system for teens.

Midland Teen Court is a "hands on" educational opportunity that allows both offenders and teen volunteers to experience, thus better understand, our system of justice. A youth who has a case deferred to Midland Teen Court appears before a jury of peers and receives a "constructive sentence." The jury is made up of secondary school volunteers and youth who are serving as part of their sentence. Mid

land Teen Court works to interrupt developing patterns of illegal behavior by motivating youth for self-improvement, developing healthy attitudes toward authority, and increasing self-esteem. Teen Court stresses the responsibility and accountability of each individual for his actions. Service on a Midland Teen Court jury challenges individual youth to perform at the highest level of ability. Teen Court also educates youth in preparation for life responsibilities as an individual, family member and citizen.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate our teen attorney, **Dee**, for being selected as the youth recipient of the Nonprofit Management Center’s Beacon Award for Judge Pat Baskin Volunteer of the Year!🏆

Dee’s dedication, leadership, compassion, and commitment to Midland Teen Court make such a difference. She continues to set an amazing example for her fellow teen attorneys and volunteers, and we are so grateful for all she does for our program and our community.

⚖️ **Growing the Next Generation of Teen Attorneys!** ⚖️

Yesterday, Midland Teen Court hosted a teen attorney training, and we were thrilled to have **12 teens** join us!

What made the day extra special was seeing **3 of our senior volunteers who have already graduated come back to help train the next generation**, alongside **5 brand-new teen attorneys** beginning their Teen Court journey. đź’™

There’s something so rewarding about watching our teens learn, grow, graduate, and then come back to pour into those who are following in their footsteps.

We’re so proud of all 12 of these young people for choosing to serve their community, develop their leadership skills, and be part of Midland Teen Court! 👏⚖️

Midland Teen Court recently welcomed 22 teens and their adults for an educational class on the dangers of alcohol, to***co, and other drugs.

A special thank you to the incredible Youth Prevention Specialists from Basin Lighthouse for sharing their knowledge and equipping our families with valuable information and prevention strategies.
