Where are my small dog lovers? Meet Kosmo Kramer, our 7lb Terrier mix! This distinguished gentleman came to us as a transfer where he was found as a stray. While we do not know much about his past, we know this little guy with the sweetest disposition has a bright future. He’s an older fella who is estimated to be around 9 years old. Kosmo would love a home where he can be cherished and spend his day on a lap sharing stories and watching the days go by. He is good with other dogs and pretty much oblivious to cats, so he’s ready to go to a home with friends or where he can be someone’s one and only. Kosmo is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Come meet him at the shelter any day, except Wednesdays, between 12:00 – 4:00. His next chapter may star you as the main character!

Stop in at the Fauquier SPCA today, on National Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, to light a candle in remembrance of the Joy & Love your pet gave you during their life time. The Fauquier SPCA is open from 12pm-4pm.

Yesterday was one for the books here at the Fauquier SPCA! Not only did we celebrate our Director’s birthday (Happy birthday, Devon! 🎉), it was also National Dog Day, and we marked the occasion in the sweetest way, by welcoming a flight transport of 14 dogs & puppies all the way from Rescue DOG & End of Life Sanctuary in TN!
A heartfelt thank you goes to pilot Jeffrey Locke and Danielle Green Locke, for making this lifesaving flight possible. Because of their care and commitment, these sweet babies arrived safely and are now ready to begin their next adventure.
We’re also so grateful to Sharon Blevins, Sam Meadows, and Amanda Lewis of the Fauquier County Office of the Commonwealth's Attorney for helping us welcome these pups to Virginia and get them settled for their next chapter.
These dogs aren’t quite ready for adoption yet, but stay tuned and keep an eye on our website for updates on when they’ll be available. We can’t wait for you to meet them!

Meet Shortstack!
Shortstack came to us as a transfer, and this sweet little girl has already made such an impression. She has been fostered with Good Dog Workshop, where she’s built a wonderful foundation for future training, and she continues learning every day.

Shortstack spends her days at the shelter patiently waiting for the right family to choose her, then heads home at night with Brian to keep practicing, growing, and soaking up new experiences. She is all puppy, but she has shown amazing restraint, whether she’s playing with toys or sneaking off with the occasional shoe. No destruction here, just lots of curiosity!

She’s great with dogs and people, helps walk other dogs, and even has the cutest little bouncy shadow that follows along wherever she goes. Shortstack is smart, playful, affectionate, and ready for a family who will keep helping her become the very best girl.

⚖️ Currently about 15 lbs and growing. But we think she will definitely stay on the short side!
✅ Spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated

Join us on Friday, August 28, 2026 for National Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day. This day is designed to help those that may struggle with the loss of a pet by giving them an outlet for their grief. Visit the shelter anytime between 12pm-4pm to light a candle in memory of your pet. You can also bring a photo of your pet to share with others. All are welcome to participate.
