I first noticed that my son's head and face looked different than "normal" when he was 2 months old. His eyes and ears were crooked and his forehead was wide & square. The pediatrican watched it for 4 months in hopes that the condition would fix itself. At 6 months it had not improved, so he r

eferred us to a Craniofacial Specialist at Cook Children's Hospital in Ft. He then diagnosed Mason with Positional Plagiocephaly and recommended treatment at Cranial Technologies in Dallas. We went to Dallas every 2 weeks for adjustments. Mason completed treatment in about 4 months and the results were wonderful! On a side note, if we hadn't had such a wonderful pro-active pediatrician, I would have never known this condition existed and my son would have never recieved the proper care he so desperately needed. As a mother, I KNEW something was different with Mason's head, but I never realized something was "wrong" and could be "fixed." Sadly, I believe I am in the majority. From a fellow mom-
Hello! My son is 13 months and has been in a helmet for the last 6 months. He has made great improvement but he still has a ways to go. He started at a 21 mm difference is down to a 13mm. I know 13 is still considered severe and would like to help him improve further. Our orthotist said there was some chance at a bit of additional improvement with a helmet until 18-24 months, but could not guarantee it. He also said it may improve some on its own. I’m trying to decide whether or not to keep him in a helmet. Does anyone have experience with a helmet past 13 months? Did you see any improvement after 12 months without a helmet?

My granddaughter is starting her treatment for plagiocephaly and brachycephaly. She’s worn her helmet for three days now. The daytime is fine but nights are horrible. She screams most of the night. She can be picked up and rocked and will go back to sleep but screams when she’s laid in bed. Is the helmet hurting her?? Any advice for a young mom who is miles away from this worried NaNa?

Hi there, I’m curious if you know if there’s a way to measure your own baby’s head to see if there is flattening? I am worried but I could also be seeing it worse than it really is. My husband doesn’t see what I see.

Hi. My son Magnus has plagiocephaly. As a baby we discussed with doctor.nhs doctor said it will return to normal as he grows helmets haven't been successful. No help haven't been called back . Basically no help. He had a special pillow as a baby.tummy time. No joy. Now he is 2 . And I am worried for him. Doesn't seem to be improving like the doctor said. What can I do to help him?
