Every Thursday at the village, a group brings a meal and sits down with our formerly homeless neighbors. Not just serving. Eating together.

We would love for you to grab some friends and sign up for a Community Cookout! You won't regret it!

This Sunday we're joining our friends at Church in the Streets.

Church in the Streets is not our event — it's a weekly gathering where neighbors come together to worship, pray, and be with one another. We just show up because it's one of the best things we do.

If you want to come with us this Sunday from 3 to 5 PM, we'd love to have you. No agenda except to be present, worship the Lord, and get to know our neighbors.

DM us or visit thefieldsedge.org/volunteer to join our crew this week.

Every Thursday at the village, a group brings a prepared meal and eats with our formerly homeless neighbors.

Not a drop-off. Not a drive-by. You bring the food, you stay, you sit down together.

We need groups to sign up. Families, churches, companies, friend groups — all welcome. Food for 30 to 40 people and a few hours of your evening is all it takes.

Last month, a small group showed up at the village with food for 40 people. They set it out, sat down, and ended up staying three hours just talking with neighbors. They said they came to serve and left feeling like they'd been the one welcomed home.

That's what Community Cookout is. A group brings the meal. We eat together. We listen. We show up.

We need groups to sign up for a Thursday. Bring your family, your church group, your coworkers. Bring a prepared meal for 30 to 40 people, stay and eat with us, and see what happens.

DM us or visit thefieldsedge.org/volunteer to sign up.

This morning my neighbor taught me astrophysics.

He is a physicist and an astronomer. Formerly homeless. Loves the Lord. One of the most brilliant people I have ever met.

We sat together and he walked me through spectral photography how the light from distant stars carries a fingerprint that tells us exactly what they are made of.

Light traveling millions of years. Still carrying its signature.

That is what The Village is about. Every person here has God-given gifts. A story, a mind, a calling. Homelessness does not erase that.

Thank you all for empowering this important mission!

This is a well deserved honor for our incredible friends and partners at The Salvation Army Midland/Odessa. Congratulations!

We are incredibly honored to receive the Dedication to Change Community Partner Award today. ❤️

Helping support those overcoming addiction and breaking the stigma surrounding recovery is something we care deeply about, and we’re grateful to be part of a community making a difference every day.

Thank you for this recognition and to everyone we work alongside to help create positive change!

We want to take a moment to remember two of our neighbors -- Elijah and Tracy.

Tracy walked with Christ for as long as we knew her, nearly 13 years of faithful friendship. Elijah came to faith in one of our outreach Bible studies. We watched it happen and it was beautiful!

Losing neighbors is always hard. But to know they were loved, that they were at home, and that they went to be with Christ, that's not a tragedy. That's the whole point of what we do.

We're grateful for every year we had with them.

Rest in Christ, Elijah and Tracy.

How did our Glean Up work-first empowerment program get off the ground?

Llama birthday parties.

The funding fell through. We had nothing. Then a 9-year-old needed a COVID birthday party, and we had llamas.

God provided several months of operating funds through drive-by llama parties during a pandemic.

We still can't explain it. That's kind of the point.

Today, Glean Up runs four days per week and two shifts of 8 workers per day. Thank you so much for helping us meet people where they're at and walk alongside them in their journey out of homelessness!
