Choice Homeschool Community Choice Homeschool Community provides homeschoolers and self-directed learners in the Permian Basin with enrichment classes and social opportunities.

We meet weekly on Fridays in central Midland. CHC is a not-for-profit organization that was born from one mom's vision to maintain an inclusive and inviting space for all types of homeschooling families in the Permian Basin. CHC welcomes everyone regardless of religion, political views, culture, learning abilities, or educational philosophy. Our vision is to create an engaging and fun learning env

ironment, while also meeting everyone where they are! Why are we called Choice? It's in our name because it's the most important part of our community. You are able to choose just about everything that frames your experience with us. You choose your membership level, you choose your classes, and you choose your level of involvement. We hope that being able to choose all of those things will make it easier for you to choose to join us!

What is CHC?

We are an enrichment community that provides classes to homeschooled students ages 3-18. Enrichment means that our classes, while often academic in nature, are meant to be a fun supplement to what homeschool families are doing at home. Our classes are not meant to be a replacement for home instruction.

Why are we structured this way?

We believe in supporting and honoring each families unique style and journey when it comes to homeschooling their students. All families are different and we welcome different styles and perspectives to our community. We provide social time and structured classes, but keep them casual and fun in a hands-on engaging way.

What types of families are welcome at CHC?

All types! We welcome any family regardless of educational style, worldview, politics, family structure, or abilities. We truly believe in an inclusive community that respects and welcomes everyone. We do not need everyone to agree on every topic, only to agree to be kind and respectful.

How often do you meet and when are classes?

We meet on Fridays for 12 weeks at a time, from 10:00 - 2:30. Families can choose how much of the day they’d like to spend with us and how many classes they’d like to take.

Is my student guaranteed to get the classes they want?

Not always, though we do our best! To keep our classes manageable and fun, we limit our class sizes and that means that sometimes they fill up and we can’t accommodate. However, we do offer second choice options and do our best to place students in classes they are suited for. We also offer waitlists and attempt to clear them if we can.

Registration for returning members (including those who took off last term) opens on January 5th. Registration for NEW members opens on January 12th.

Term starts January 30th and runs for 12 weeks! Please feel free to message or email us if you have any questions about CHC.

As we close out our year, we like to look back on our time together!

CHC loves to utilize community resources for field trips and fun activities, and the Children’s Musuem at Museum of the Southwest is one of them. Our students were able to play and explore, as well as learn perspective and color theory through a fun art activity!
