The 2026 Star-Spangled Salute, Presented by ExxonMobil Permian, is just days away and we want to make sure you're ready for America’s 250th Celebration!

Before heading downtown on July 4, here is everything you need to know:

👜 Clear Bag Policy: A clear bag policy will be enforced for all attendees. Exceptions may be made for diaper bags and medically necessary items, which are subject to inspection. Security screenings will be in place at all entry points.

🚧 Road Closures: Several streets in the downtown area will be closed to traffic beginning Friday, July 3 at 2:00 PM. Please plan your route accordingly. Closed streets include portions of Texas Ave., Wall St., Colorado St., Loraine St., and Main St. around the Centennial Park and Bush Convention Center area.

🅿️ Parking: Several parking areas are available near the event grounds. VIP & Handicapped Parking is located on E. Texas Ave. at N. Main St. Additional public parking lots are available on E. Wall St. and south of Missouri Ave. Thank you to SVN for sponsoring parking!

🕛 Park Hours: Event Grounds will be closed to the public from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM on July 4. Gates will reopen at 5:00 PM for Star-Spangled Salute festivities.

🪑 Seating: Standard single-seat lawn chairs are encouraged. Multi-person seating, loungers, and chairs with attached tables or canopies are prohibited.

🚫 Prohibited Items: Weapons of any kind • Coolers • Pets • Bicycles • Scooters • Skateboards • Smoking and va**ng devices • Glass containers • Balloons

Midland Celebrates America 250 · Arts & Culture Day 🎨🇺🇸

On June 20, our city came alive with art, music, and community from sunrise to sundown. What a day, Midland!

It started at the Downtown Farmers Market with the Patriotic Rise & Run, live music, Midland Festival Ballet, handmade quilts from the Quilters Guild and Quilts of Valor, and rows of local makers and food. From there, the celebration spread across the city — animal encounters and a new exhibit at Sibley Nature Center, the jaw-dropping GIANT sculptures by Ken Womack at the Museum of the Southwest, pickleball at Bush Tennis Center, student art at Midland College, popcorn and pop-up art at Wagner Noël, vinyl and murals at Cotton Flat Records, and so much more.

Every stop told a piece of the American story through a West Texas lens, and you showed up for all of it.
