The Curt Orlowski Memorial and Scholarship Fund were created by his family in 2014. The summer before his sophomore year at Northwood University, Curt and his friend Dakota Gonzales were working at University of Michigan. The afternoon of July 3rd the boys, traveling home after work, were struck and killed by a drunk driver. Curt's family has since started the Curt Orlowski Memorial Scholarship which gives out three $1,000 scholarships to Tecumseh High School graduating seniors each year. The Tecumseh, MI community was so incredibly generous with their time, kindness, and money, the Orlowski Family decided to found the Curt Orlowski Memorial Scholarship Fund. Dakota Gonzales' family also started a Memorial Fund in Dakota's name, and throughout the year the families put on fundraising events.
