Why You Should Volunteer
For anyone with a passion for animals, volunteering at WHR&S is a truly rewarding experience. After all, that is what we were founded upon: a passion for helping animals in need. We animal lovers are a special breed of human beings, to whom something as simple as spending time in the pasture with our horses, brings deep fulfillment and joy. Our volunteers look forward to the time that they get to spend with our horses and are passionate about providing the highest quality of care that help these animals to find their forever home.

How to Become a Volunteer
We seek out compassionate individuals that live the WHR&S mission. The first step to becoming a volunteer is to fill out the application below.

We are starting something new! Every Thursday, we will ask you a question and we need your feedback! It may be a silly, fun question but others will help us decide on what clinics we will be offering in the future. We are so excited to share some of the amazing opportunities that we will be able to offer our community once we get this barn complete. We will still be operating as a rescue but we will offer clinics, programs for Boys & Girl Scouts to earn badges, and more. We can't wait to share with you soon.

Today's THURSDAY POLL DAY: What do you wish that our area had for horses?

*HORSE SPOTLIGHT*

Meet "Two" AKA GRADY!! ! Grady is a registered Morgan, about 21 years old. Grady and 5 other horses were surrendered by a breeder in Florida. This breeder is not at fault, her husband passed away and she was simply not able to give the horses the care they needed. We took 2 of the 6. Grady does have some serious dental work that is needed but otherwise, he just needs some time and TLC. He is on Triple Crown Senior feed, Mad Barn 3 Amigos, hay and perennial peanut hay daily. (The hay included on his daily cost is perennial peanut hay, not regular hay. ) Grady does have to have access to hay 24/7 due to his front teeth. He will be getting a dental soon but unfortunately, it doesn't appear he will ever be able to graze like a normal horse due to the issues with his front teeth.

If you would like to sponsor Grady, you can do so here: https://givebutter.com/GradyWHRS
