We are delighted to announce the selection of Steven Downs, Michael Smith, Josh Robertson, and Todd Coughlin to represent our district in the 6A finals on Wednesday. Through their tireless efforts, these individuals have consistently demonstrated excellence in their roles, reflecting the elevated standards of SEABUA. Their impressive training and expertise shine through in their performance. We are exceptionally proud of these officials and look forward to their outstanding contributions in the upcoming finals.

Big Congratulations are in Order!

We’re proud to recognize our outstanding officials for their incredible work this season:

Umpire of the Year: MICHAEL DODSON — setting the standard with professionalism, consistency, and leadership on and off the field!

Rookie of the Year: CHRIS SMITH — making an immediate impact with his dedication, growth, and passion for the game!

IronMan Award: JIMMY McKINNEY — showing unmatched toughness, reliability, and commitment by answering the call day in and day out!

Clock Award : DOUG BRINSON — Actually an award you hope not to win, (LONGEST GAME on the PLATE), but represents the Labor of Love to maintain the dedication and focus over a complete game. Winning the award this year with a 4:40 marathon with a final score of 26-24 in 8 innings.

Thank you for your hard work and for raising the bar for all of us. The game is better because of you!

At our 2026 Year-End Banquet, SEABUA celebrated another successful season of baseball. Thanks to the dedication and hard work of umpires like those we recognized today, SEABUA proudly achieved 100% coverage of all scheduled games — resulting in zero cancellations due to lack of officials. We are proud to support the student-athletes of our area and grateful for the commitment shown by our entire umpire team. Here's to another great season in the books!

SEABUA just wrapped up one of our most impactful training sessions yet with Indoor Strike Zone Training at On Deck Hitting Academy.

Having the ability to work pitches in a controlled indoor environment was a game-changer, allowing our umpires to focus on timing, consistency, and accuracy without outside distractions. Even more valuable was the use of On Deck’s HitTrax system, which gives us real data and immediate feedback, helping create a more consistent strike zone and accelerating development for new umpires and veterans alike.

This type of training is exactly how SEABUA continues to raise the bar and improve the overall quality of officiating across our organization.
