Unfortunately, we did not get enough ticket sales to justify hosting this year's Mother Son Dance, so the 2026 event will be cancelled. We will try to host the Mother Son Dance again next year, but if we don't get enough ticket sales to cover the cost of the event, it may be cancelled completely.

Thank you to the people that purchased tickets, your refunds will be processed as quickly as we can.

COACH SPOTLIGHT: Alexandra Lydy!

“Coaching 6U soccer alongside Heidi this year has been SO much fun!

Between herding tiny humans, chasing the ball around the field, and finding every possible way to keep those little legs moving… somehow, we call that soccer!
But honestly, watching these little athletes build friendships, grow in confidence, learn new skills, and most importantly have FUN has been the best part.

Going into my first year of coaching, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but it has already been such a fun, rewarding, and unforgettable experience. I’m so excited to see what the rest of the season brings!⚽️💜”

For the past three years, David has dedicated so much of his time and energy to coaching the 5U and 8U soccer teams, and it has been incredibly inspiring to watch.

He goes far beyond just teaching them the basics of passing and scoring; his true focus is helping them genuinely fall in love with the game. Whether it is through silly drills, high-fives after a good kick, or just letting them experience the pure joy of running around the field, he ensures that fun is at the heart of every single practice.

It has been especially heartwarming watching him share this passion with his daughters out on the field. It takes a special kind of patience and enthusiasm to coach these young age groups, and seeing the massive smiles on their faces makes it all worth it. We are so proud of the coach he is and the positive impact he is having on these future all-stars!

COACH SPOTLIGHT: HEIDI SEWELL

If you’ve ever coached young soccer players, Heidi Sewell sums it up perfectly: “10% soccer and 90% organized chaos!”

“Between snacks, shoelace emergencies, someone picking up the ball like we’re playing football, and everyone stopping to watch an airplane fly overhead… somehow, something pretty amazing happens.”

“You get to watch these little athletes learn, grow, encourage each other, and experience that moment when all the fundamentals finally start coming together.”

For Heidi, that’s what makes coaching so special:

“It is honestly one of the most rewarding things I have been a part of!”

Thank you, Heidi, for embracing the chaos, teaching the game, and helping our young players fall in love with soccer!

COACH SPOTLIGHT: Melissa McClurkin

Meet Melissa, one of our current 7U Boys coaches and now in her 3rd year of coaching for Middleville AYSO!

Melissa originally stepped up to volunteer for one simple reason: so her son wouldn’t be stuck on a waiting list. Three years later, she’s still here because she fell in love with coaching!

That’s the power of volunteering. Sometimes you sign up to make sure your own kid gets to play… and end up discovering just how rewarding it is to be part of the game for ALL the kids.

Thank you, Melissa, for stepping up and continuing to give your time to our players!

AYSO truly runs on volunteers who keep showing up for kids and our community year after year. We’re lucky to have Jason as part of our team!

Thank you, Jason, for 13 years of giving back!

Alisa has been part of the Middleville AYSO Board since 2019 and has spent the last 8 years coaching in the program. From supporting and recruiting our volunteer coaches to helping teams get everything they need for a successful season, she’s spent a lot of time both on the sidelines and behind the scenes.

AYSO is powered by volunteers who step up wherever they’re needed, and we’re grateful for the years Alisa has given to our players, coaches, and soccer community.
