Today Jacob Beachy Fund received a heartwarming note from Jacob P.'s mom.
Here's what she said:
I would like to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude to Jacob’s Fund for awarding my son, Jacob, a hippotherapy scholarship. This generous support has eased a significant financial burden on our family and has allowed him to continue participating in a therapy that he truly loves and benefits from. Jacob has shown tremendous growth through the therapy, and it has greatly improved his balance, coordination, and overall strength. Beyond the physical benefits, it has also strengthened his confidence and deepened his love for animals. He looks forward to each session, and seeing his progress has been incredibly rewarding for our family. As a special needs family, we face many medical and therapeutic expenses. One of Jacob’s specialists does not accept insurance, making each visit a substantial out of pocket cost. In addition, Jacob underwent a stem cell treatment through Duke University, which was not covered by insurance and was required to be paid out of pocket as it was a clinical trial. While there are programs intended to support families like ours, the reality is that many necessary treatments and therapies still come with overwhelming financial challenges. Organizations like Jacob’s Fund are truly the heroes, stepping in to provide meaningful assistance and making a real difference in the lives of families every day. Thank you for your generosity, compassion, and commitment to helping children like Jacob continue to access the therapies they need to thrive. Your support means more than words can express.

We at Jacob Beachy Fund are so touched by Harper-Lyn's generosity. As we follow her journey, our hearts are lifted by her amazing triumphs and beautiful spirit. We're humbly grateful to have helped. If you've donated to Jacob's Fund, please know that you have made a very real difference in a child's life. Here's what her mom told us:
When I look back on the toughest years of motherhood I think of 2014-2016. It was the onset of our Autism journey and I felt like I was on auto-pilot the entire time.
Despite the challenges of those early years, we were blessed. Harper-Lynn started multiple early intervention therapies including hippotherapy through her occupational therapist. While insurance covered her therapies, hippotherapy was not covered.
In the fall of 2014, Harper-Lynn was chosen by the Jacob Beachy Fund to receive a scholarship that covered 100% of her hippotherapy fees.
We met her benefactors Glenna Fisher and Bernie Fisher the next year and have stayed in touch since through Facebook.
Earlier this evening Harper-Lynn and I were talking about her upcoming book release. She asked me if I thought we could donate some of the money she makes from the book to the Jacob Beachy Fund. I told her absolutely! She said it would be a full circle moment where she could give back to the foundation that gave so much to her. I was pretty much speechless.
I am so proud of Harper-Lynn. Her journey has not been an easy one. I'm so grateful for the giving heart she has and how she'll be able to help other children on the Autism Spectrum have access to this incredible therapy.
When her book is released next month, I hope you'll feel led to buy a copy to support her in her writing career and efforts to help other children on the Autism Spectrum.

Today is the last day of our Giving Tuesday fundraiser. Help children with developmental impairments walk, talk, interact with their families and friends, and have the best possible life. Using the horse as a therapy tool, physical, occupational, and speech therapy can result in almost magical results. It was for our Jacob, and we'd like to see it happen for many more children. A donation of any amount helps make children's dreams come true.

Each child who receives a Jacob's Fund scholarship for hippotherapy or therapeutic riding reminds us of our Jacob, in whose memory we do this. Children from Massachusetts to Georgia to Ohio and Indiana grew stronger, overcame obstacles, and achieved developmental milestones this year, just like Jacob did. And just like Jacob, this almost magical therapy using a horse brought smiles to their faces and joy to their families. Your donation can make that happen to the children we help.
