We are a Wesleyan student group formed in 2012 to provide educational opportunities to girls living in economically and socially disadvantaged regions of India. We work with a nonprofit NGO (non-governmental organization) called IIMPACT, which currently gives primary-level education to 20,000 girls in 8 states of India. Almost all of the students that complete their program go on to middle and hig

h school. 100% of donor funds go toward the education of these children. Last year we raised enough money to start a Wesleyan-sponsored school in India, and this year we are looking to raise even more. Our main actions as a student group include hosting fundraisers, designing curriculum materials across the various subjects, and informing the greater community about this issue of education in India through film screenings and other events.
