Better Together America aspires to make The Rippel Foundation “Vital Conditions for Health and Well-Being” a reality. By connecting and accelerating place-based, collective impact organizing efforts across the country, we are empowering communities to re-imagine democracy from the ground up. By increasing community resilience and fortifying civic capacity, communities across the country will be better equipped to solve their biggest challenges and reduce the risk of political violence and division.
Civic Hubs are the keystone organizing force to build community resilience, increase accountability between elected officials and the people, solve community challenges, and strengthen the civic fabric. This builds trust from the ground up, while increasing the community's capacity for generative, constructive conflict.
Civic hubs facilitate community visioning, deliberation, and prioritization processes to identify top issues for their community. During these processes, hub members have the opportunity to inform the community about their focus areas, which enables the community to make well-informed decisions.
They will likely identify topics in the Vital conditions developed by the ripple foundation plus the outside ring which includes how the work gets implemented and potentially structural reform. This holistic approach is what it takes for a community to be resilient. When conducted at scale, this leads to a healthier and more civic society.
