Native Flower Planting! 🌼🦋🌸🐝

Join NJ Fish and Wildlife Senior Zoologist Robert Somes and Cape May Watershed Ambassador Lauren Heraux in restoring an old field area into beneficial habitat for our native pollinators. Attendees will plant yellow wild indigo seedlings which is the host plant for Frosted Elfin Butterflies (state endangered), and helps support Monarch Butterflies!

We had a wonderful turnout at the 2026 Spring Member Meeting ‘Science in the Field’, an absolutely fantastic slate of presenters, and a great first Pint Night!

Special thanks to Monmouth County Parks System for hosting us, especially RJ Curcio & Maggie Coakley , Sean Sterrett & Kristie Semanchik for presenting their work on salamanders & Carton Brewing for hosting our first Pint Night of the season!

Dr. Sean Sterrett is an associate professor of wildlife ecology at Monmouth University. His research interests are wildlife biology, ecology, management and conservation with a specialization on reptiles and amphibians. Sean will be presenting at our spring meeting discussing the hidden biodiversity within Huber woods! 🐢🐍🦎
