MIGRATION PEAK BIRD WALK. Saturday, OCTOBER 10, 2026 at 8:30 AM
As of early October 2026, fall migration is peaking right here in Frederick County, Maryland, bringing a high volume of songbirds and raptors traveling along the Blue Ridge and Piedmont flyways.

Come out and help us celebrate the changing character of our outdoor environment as migration takes place in Middletown with a bird walk at Wiles Branch Park in the area of the soccer field. The walk will be led by A. Bhat.

Bring Binoculars and make sure to dress for the weather accordingly.
Download Merlin Bird ID app (FREE) on your phone.
If you want to check out the FREDERICK COUNTY MIGRATION DASHBOARD: https://dashboard.birdcast.org/region/US-MD-021 to see the EXPECTED Nocturnal Migrants.

YOUR OBITUARY: Want to be celebrated & remembered as a meadow, nourishing, vibrant and alive, or as a lawn, essentially ornamental and useless to most everyone? (Enjoy this entertaining article from the Bay Journal.)

How would you want your obituary to read? “His/her life was like a lawn: monotonous, sterile, polluting, indifferent to birds and bees; forever off key in the choir of life”?
