Meiling is currently being hospitalized for high calcium. She has a history of IBD and has had decreased eating this past week. She was at the vet Tuesday for bloodwork and supportive care. She will stay on IV fluids throughout the day and we will increase her Prednisolone dosage. Send good vibes her way in hopes she starts eating again soon.

Teddy has us waving our little white flag. He spiked yet another low grade fever this morning and was acting a tad off. His pupils started to dilate and constrict like they were on Wednesday and his balance was off a bit wobbly. Teddy has his doctor a little stumped as to what is causing the spikes/declines. On the list of differentials is: Neuro FIP, Toxoplasmosis and Ocular Seizures. He is now being treated for FIP with GS and for Toxo Clindamycin. Teddy has mentally drained me so I'm hanging on to hope that we figure something out soon. He's been such a fighter since day one and we will continue to fight right along side of him!

Teddy is feeling much better this morning! He's 95% back to his normal spunky self. He still stumbles here and there but I think some of that is due to his catheter. Right now Teddy is only on GS and with seeing improvement on it, he will stay on it for another 82 days. Hopefully this will be the last of his downs and it will only be ups from here!

Early yesterday morning, Teddy spiked a fever again, and I could just tell something wasn’t right. After I got him to work, things got scarier—Teddy started showing some possible neurological symptoms. We did a CBC, and his white blood cell count came back a little high at 19 (normal tops out at 17), but the doctor doesn’t think that explains the fever and how wiped out he is. With the fever sticking around and now these new signs, we’re worried Teddy might have Neuro FIP. We started treatment for FIP right away. Right now, he’s got a jugular IV catheter and we’re running fluids, hoping to bring his fever down. He’s fighting hard, but yesterday was been rough for him. Please send him all your good thoughts—he could really use them.

Head on over to Pet Supplies Plus in Hamilton, Ohio to meet Rock'Em Sock'Em Robots and Wetzel. These sweet boys just arrived to their adoption catio today and are on the hunt for their forever home!

We wanted to share a cute video of Draven who is still on the hunt for his forever home! Draven is 11 months old, FULL of character and has been in foster care since he was 2.5 weeks old! Draven suffered facial trauma as a young kitten which has left him with nasal scaring causing him to breathe through his mouth instead of nose. Draven always sounds like Darth Vader is running loose in your house and is great with other animals! He would thrive in a home with another cat or dog to play with. Teddy hasn’t had a fever since Wednesday afternoon, and we’re so relieved to see him feeling better. He’s eating his crunchy food, drinking water on his own, and that spark in his eyes is starting to come back. We may never know what made him sick in the first place, but we’re just grateful the fever is finally gone. He’s not quite his usual self yet, but we’re hopeful he’ll keep improving. Thank you so much to everyone who donated or sent kind words for Teddy—your support means the world to us!

Teddy had a calm night. His fever dropped to 101.5 early this morning, but by the time he got to work with his foster, it had crept back up to 103. We started him on IV fluids again for the day, and he’s still getting his antibiotics through the IV. The good news is that Teddy’s appetite for chicken baby food hasn’t faded—he’s eating better and seems a little brighter today. If he keeps this up, we are hopeful we can switch him to oral antibiotics tomorrow morning. True to form, Teddy’s hanging in there with that quiet strength of his, being such a brave little guy.
