🖤 WORSHIP LAB: FAITH THAT DOES SOMETHING 🖤

This Sunday in Worship Lab, we’re putting our faith into action by making Blessing Bags for people experiencing homelessness in our community.

As we begin our Bad Religion sermon series, we’re hearing the challenging words of the prophet Amos:

“But let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” — Amos 5:24

In Amos 5:10–27, God challenges a faith that is filled with worship, songs, and religious activity but ignores the needs and suffering of people around us. Worship isn’t meant to end when the service is over. The faith we practice inside the church should change the way we love people outside of it.

So our kids will learn about Amos—and then DO something about it.

They’ll pack Blessing Bags filled with practical items that can be shared with neighbors experiencing homelessness, giving them a tangible way to practice compassion, generosity, and justice.

Because in Worship Lab, we don’t just talk about faith.

💡 We experience it.
❤️ We explore it.
🙌 We live it.

Confirm is a new adult Sunday School class led by Rev. Dr. Katie Bishop, beginning Sunday, September 13 at 9:30 a.m. in the Social Hall. Designed to mirror the youth confirmation experience, Confirm will explore the foundations of our faith, what we believe as United Methodists, and what it means to live out those beliefs in our everyday lives. The class will meet Sunday mornings through October, but there’s no need to commit to every week—pop in whenever you can! Whether you’re new to the church, have been United Methodist your whole life, or simply want to dig a little deeper into what we believe and why, Confirm is for you. 🧼 Our NEW Personal Care Pantry is OPEN! 🧴

We’re excited to expand the ways we care for our neighbors with a Little Free Pantry dedicated specifically to personal care and hygiene items.

We’re looking for donations of new, unopened items such as soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, feminine hygiene products, razors, diapers, wipes, and other everyday personal care necessities.

Just like our food pantry, this pantry is available to anyone who needs a little extra help—no questions asked. Take what you need. Give what you can. ❤️

Donations can be placed directly in the pantry or dropped off at the church office, and we’ll restock it as needed.

These may seem like small things, but access to basic hygiene products can make a huge difference in someone’s dignity, health, and confidence.

Thank you for helping us care for our neighbors, one bar of soap, bottle of shampoo, and package of necessities at a time. 💛

We are so grateful for the incredible response to our Little Free Pantry! Thank you to everyone who has donated and helped us keep the shelves stocked for our neighbors. Your generosity makes a real difference in our community.

Just a reminder that ongoing donations are always welcome! Donations of shelf-stable food and other pantry items can be:

🥫 Placed directly in the Little Free Pantry, or
❤️ Dropped off by the church office

Our team checks the pantry regularly and restocks it as needed, so donations left at the church will make their way to the pantry when supplies run low.
