Middletown Arts and Activities Council - MAAC Volunteer organization that hosts four annual events: Memorial Day Weekend Summer Kick-off Celebration, Summer Movie Nights, and Scarecrow Contest.

Thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s contest! The entries are fantastic! Thank you to the Town for their support and to the Frieder, Ciucci, Nair, and LaPadula families for volunteering. This is the last scarecrow contest being run by MAAC. The Frieders and LaPadulas are passing the torch to Main Street Middletown, Maryland. We appreciate them carrying on this tradition. Always a fun event!

It’s that time again! Come to the Town municipal office to register and pick up a free kit. There are two categories: individual/family and business/organization. Return your completed scarecrow to the town office on Friday, October 13th. Come see them all and vote for your favorite on Saturday October 14th. We can’t wait to see the entries this year!

Join us tonight in Remsberg Park for a movie under the stars! It’s going to be a beautiful night! The event and parking are free. Thank you to our sponsor The Town of Middletown! Bring your chairs, blankets, and sweatshirts (it gets chilly after the sun goes down). You are welcome to bring food and Sunset Slush will be there along with the Middletown Library and Soola Hoops. Fun starts at 7PM TONIGHT. Movie starts at dark. Hope to see you there!

Grab a blanket or some chairs and join us at Remsberg Park next Saturday, August 19th for a movie under the stars. Fun starts at 7PM. The Middletown branch of Frederick County Public Libraries will be there with crafts and Soola Hoops will be there with hoola hoop fun. Movie starts at dark. Event and parking are free. Scarecrows will be up until November 1st. If you didn't get a chance to come downtown today, we hope that you will take a stroll on Main Street and enjoy them before it's too late.
