Programs
Each monthly meeting has a featured program which may be presented by guild members or an invited speaker. The programs offer an opportunity to learn new techniques, view new products, or expand our knowledge of quilting. Show and Tell is an important element of each meeting, giving members a chance to show off their latest quilting accomplishme
nts. Workshops
We have frequent workshops, often planned around the monthly program. Workshops may be taught by guest speakers or by one of our talented guild members. Dates and fees for the workshops are listed on our calendar and in the guild newsletter which is published bimonthly. Open Sew
This is an informal group of quilters who meet at the Annex of Poricy Park on Wednesdays between 10 am and 2 pm. Members are free to show up any time between those hours and bring lunch and a current project to work on. Long tables are available to pin or baste large quilt sandwiches. The cutting room has a table and rulers for cutting pieces. The library has an extensive assortment of quilting books that may be checked out by guild members. Small Groups
In addition to monthly meetings that involve the entire guild, several small groups focus on specific interests. Information on these groups is available here. Quilt Show
A juried quilt show is held every other year at Poricy Park, Middletown, NJ. More than 150 traditional and contemporary quilts are displayed in the historic Murray Farmhouse, the Barn, and in two other park buildings. Guild members have the opportunity to have their work evaluated by a professionally certified quilt judge. The Barn Challenge, a quilt challenge based on the show’s theme, is a popular feature at the show, with viewers voting for their favorite.
