What an incredible Rotary meeting today!
We had the pleasure of welcoming Terry Sherrer, who delivered an inspiring message on leadership, personal growth, and the power of perseverance.
Terry shared his journey with the YMCA, including the challenges he faced when stepping into an organization that was going through difficult times. Through determination, confidence, and a commitment to making a difference, he helped lead the YMCA toward positive change.
His message was filled with valuable reminders that apply to all of us, both personally and professionally:
- Be confident, even when you don't feel confident.
- Listen before you speak. Great leaders understand the importance of listening.
- Get involved in your community. Leadership extends far beyond your job title.
- Keep showing up. Be consistent, dependable, and a person of your word.
- Speak up and speak with confidence! Don't whisper your ideas, let your voice be heard!
One of the biggest takeaways? Leadership isn't about having all the answers or never facing challenges. It's about how you respond, the example you set, and the commitment you make to those counting on you.
A huge THANK YOU to Terry for sharing his experiences, wisdom, and passion for our community! We're grateful for leaders like you who continue to make Middletown a better place.
Couldn't make it today? No worries, join us next Tuesday, October 20th for our Rotary in Action meeting with guest speaker Dottie Meade!
