I remember sitting in exam rooms holding my baby, listening to the sounds no one else seemed worried about.

“They’ll grow out of it.”
“Some babies are just noisy.”
“Try not to worry.”

But I was worried…because this wasn’t just noise.

It was struggling. It was feeding taking hours.

It was sleepless nights watching every breath.

It was that instinct deep in my bones telling me something wasn’t right, even when I was made to feel dramatic, anxious, or dismissed.

I learned quickly that advocating for my child meant asking the same questions over and over, pushing for referrals, trusting my gut when the answers didn’t make sense. Noisy breathing is never normal…and parents know their children better than anyone in the room.

Getting a diagnosis didn’t magically make things easy, but it gave us validation, direction, and hope.

And along the way, I learned I wasn’t alone.

exists for families like mine…to educate, to advocate, and to stand beside parents who are fighting to be heard when it feels like no one is listening.

And if you’re reading this with tears in your eyes, replaying conversations where you felt ignored or doubted, please know this: they may not have heard you…but your child needed you, and you showed up anyway.

'Duck Dynasty' star Sadie Robertson reveals her 9-month-old daughter Kit underwent surgery for a severe voice box disorder after two choking incidents.

Baby Kit had to be resuscitated with CPR in April, and choked again weeks later before doctors diagnosed severe laryngomalacia.
