Southeast Iowa STEM Expo

Southeast Iowa STEM Expo Southeast Iowa STEM Expo is a collaboration between local businesses, Iowa Works, the Iowa Army National Guard and high schools in Southeast Iowa.

It is open to high school students in Southeast Iowa and West Central Illinois.

With the current COVID-19 emergency situation, we have decided to postpone the 2020 Southeast Iowa STEM Expo. We are committed to this event and believe in it's value for our students in Southeast Iowa, so we will be rescheduling the event. Due to the fluid nature of the education situation right now, we have not decided on a date at this time. We will continue to stay in contact with our partners and disseminate information as we make decisions. Thank you to everyone who has helped with this amazing event so far! We look forward to seeing everyone once this crisis is over!

The main topic this year for the Iowa Governor's STEM Advisory Council Summit is Transforming Education for the Workforce, to encourage the public conversation about making connections between what students learn in the classroom and the expectations of Iowa's workforce. Work-based learning and computer science will be the focus of these conversations.

This aligns exactly with our vision for the Southeast Iowa STEM Expo!

More than 1,200 girls from 42 counties across Iowa have participated in Girls Go STEM since the program began in 2012. Through this University of Iowa program, many participants are discovering new opportunities and interests.
