Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Wall Committee The Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Wall stands in the Town of Wallkill Memorial Park. The park was create Veterans can have their names inscribed on the wall.

The Committee raises funds to continue erecting the memorial wall and support its local veteran-geared projects. Mike Cody, a Purple Heart recipient for his service during the Vietnam War, is President of the organization and has spear-headed this effort. Mike’s and the committee’s goal is to finish the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Wall within his lifetime. As of November 2020, five black granite st

one panels have been erected and the committee is raising money for 4 more stone sections to replace the existing black aluminum panels. The Memorial park “is of the people, by the people and for the people,’ and hopes it will serve as a place people can visit and remember veterans’ sacrifices for years to come. Board Members:

Town Supervisor Frank DenDanto III, has declared a State of Emergency in the Town of Wallkill beginning at 6am on Sunday, January 25, 2026 through 5pm on Monday, January 26, 2026. We are instructing all residents to remain off the roads, except people who are employed as essential personnel. Also there is no parking on any public roadway in the town for any reason during this emergency declaration. The Town of Wallkill Community Center will be designated as an emergency warming center during the storm, residents in need should contact the Police Department at (845)692-6757. We ask that residents take the remainder of today to prepare for the storm and grab any last minute items you may need for the next couple of days. Also during the storm please allow the plow truck operators ample space to operate their vehicles, remain a safe distance from all sides of the plow trucks. Please continue to monitor official Town of Wallkill Social media for up to date storm information. We also also be sending messages through the town messaging system. Please take time Sunday and Monday to relax, stay warm and be safe.

Yesterday our Vietnam Veterans' Memorial Wall Committee gathered to empty out our small trailer as we begin downsizing and wrapping up much of our work. It wasn’t easy - especially for Mike - to see it go. But we’re not done yet. We’ll still be active in 2026, with important milestones ahead, including the 25th anniversary of 9/11.
