Exciting news for the Laurel Ridge Community College Middletown campus! Thanks to a generous donation from the Phi Theta Kappa Alpha Beta Omega Chapter, the TRIO Food Pantry now has a brand-new food cart! 🛒✨

This much-needed addition will help make transporting and organizing essential items easier, ensuring that our students have convenient access to food and resources.

A huge thank you to the amazing members of our PTK chapter for their dedication to service and for supporting our campus community in such a meaningful way. Your efforts truly make a difference! 💙💚

🎄 Help Spread Holiday Cheer at Middletown Elementary! 🎄

This December 17th, we’re hosting a special holiday party for the incredible special education students at Middletown Elementary, and we need your help to make it magical!

How You Can Help:
✅ Volunteer – We need at least 4 more volunteers to assist with crafts, activities, and helping the kids select their special gifts.
✅ Donate – We're collecting new or like-new children's books (up to 4th grade level) and stuffed animals. No writing or bent corners, please!

📍 Drop-off Location:
Prof. B's Office, Room 214L, Main Building, Laurel Ridge

🎁 Each child will receive a book and a stuffed animal, and we'll spend the morning crafting and celebrating the season together.

To volunteer, you’ll need to fill out a quick form for the school:

Under "student names," write Holiday Party-SPED and select "other" for grade level. For "I would like to help with…," choose chaperone.

Hi all! We are currently running a food and supply drive. For those who do not know, Lord Fairfax has a food pantry provided for students who are in need. While the food pantry is full of food for students to take home and cook there is not much for them on-the-go or while they are hanging around campus. These students may also be in need of basic tools that help them get through the semester.

Keep your eyes peeled for these boxes! The purple box is located in the Student Union, the yellow box is located in the Science and Health Professions building, and there is a red box located in Fairfax Hall by the front information desk/police desk.

Thank you to everyone who bought tickets and supported Alpha Beta Omega Chapter's parking space fundraiser this spring semester! We raised $148.00 to go towards helping members pay for their membership fee! The winner this semester is Ms. Cindy Ingram!

From PTK Advisor, Professor Jim Brumbaugh:

"It’s that time of year again. Parking is hard to find, even when you build a new parking lot! Wouldn’t you rather have your own parking spot to call your own?

The Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society is selling tickets for a parking spot located just 20 feet from the college’s front doors. Really nice to have during the cold winter days. Tickets cost $1 each or 6 for $5. Please track me down (room 122L), or one of the PTK officers, and get that ticket.

All funds go to support students of the honors society who cannot afford to join the honors society. The drawing will be held Tuesday, January 30th.

As always, thank you for your support of student activities at LFCC."

On behalf of the LFCC Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Beta Omega Chapter, we would like to thank all students and staff who participated in the Nutrition Survey sent out last semester. 669 people started it and 429 people finished the whole survey. It is a truly wonderful amount of participation and we couldn't have done it without you all. Thank you very much!

Hello! This is the first video produced by Lord Fairfax Community College's Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Beta Omega Chapter on the honors topic we studied this year. The video is 3 minutes long and talks about how eating unhealthy food can affect us, especially in school. Our goal is to educate everyone about healthy versus unhealthy food and how to find it, prepare it, and its effect on us. This included a survey earlier in the year which over 200 people have answered (results to be shared soon) and our speaker, a nutritionist, who many of us got to see and ask questions. Please watch the video and we hope you find it helpful! We recommend you watch it on HD!
