*AAA Championship Alert* Maybe it was the ice cream🍨, but it was another big crowd atmosphere for the AAA TriTown Championship game as the Cubs and Mets faced off on Monday night at Howe Manning for the title. The Mets jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the 2nd inning behind hits from Bo Boutilier, Jackson Mandly (2B), Bret Scarfo, and Owen Curtiss. The rally ended, however, when the Cubs executed a perfect relay on a single by Cody Scarfo, going from Celia Lovett in LF to Nathan Kaminski at SS to Marco Ruggiero at catcher to cut down the runner at home for the 3rd out. The momentum then swung in the Cubs direction, as they plated 3 runs in the 3rd off of back-to-back-to-back hits by Kaminski, Dylan Figueroa (3B), and Will Hartwell (3B). An incredible diving catch by Boutilier, racing over from SS to catch a sinking liner behind 3B, limited the damage for the Mets. Following another Cubs run in the 4th by McKayla Green, 3 more Cubs crossed the plate in each of the 5th and 6th innings, with more key hits from Ruggiero (2B, 1B) Cash Gillespie, and Kaminski (2B). On the other side of the ball, the Cubs pitchers were able to keep the Mets bats in check, with starting pitcher Figueroa (3 IP, 7K) turning the ball over to Kaminski who pitched 3 shutout innings (7K) to secure the 10-4 championship victory for the Cubs! Colin Staffier (3 IP, 5K) and Boutilier (3 IP, 5K) each pitched well for the Mets in the losing effort. Congratulations to both teams on an outstanding season and a well played and exciting AAA championship game! Congrats Cubs on taking home the trophy!!! 🏆

🏆*AA Championship Alert* 🏆 The AA season came to a thrilling conclusion on Friday night as the Reds and Dodgers battled for the crown in front of a packed house at Fuller Meadow. It was a back and forth affair, with the Dodgers leading 5-3 after 4 innings on the strength of key hits by Dante Grella (2B), Lorenzo Ferreira (1B), and Louie Roberto (1B, 3B). The Reds broke through in the top of the 5th as, after Nico Pugliano singled and came around to score, Griffin Apostolides came to bat with the bases loaded and delivered a 2-out bases clearing single to RF to give the Reds a 7-5 lead. Each team plated another run to set up the drama in the bottom of the 6th as the Dodgers staged a 2 out rally, but Henry Selbovitz recorded the championship clinching strikeout with the potential game tying and winning runs on 3B and 1B, giving the Reds the 8-7 victory! Timmy Lovett (3 IP, 6K) and Apostolides (2.2 IP, 7K) were solid on the mound for the Reds, matching the efforts on the other side by Ferreira (2 IP, 4K), Nico Koudanis (1.2 IP, 4K), and Grella (2.1 IP, 7K). It was an outstanding game, well played by both sides, and a great way to finish the AA season!! Congrats Reds on taking home the trophy!!! 🏆

⚾ Playoffs continue tonight with a big night for the MLL-- all four teams remaining the AAA division are Middleton squads! 💪 The White Sox will take on the Cubs at Howe Manning and the Mets will battle the Braves at Pye Brook. Both games start at 5:45, beautiful night for baseball ....go catch a game!
