🏆 Championship Alert 🏆 The Middleton 9's defended the home turf tonight, securing a 5-2 win over a tough Hamilton-Wenham squad. After H-W jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the 1st, the Middleton bats responded with 4 straight hits to lead off the bottom of the 1st with singles from Dylan Figueroa and Justin Morneau preceding a RBI double from Marco Ruggiero and a 2-RBI single from Louie Roberto. A 2-out single by Colton Schroll drove in the 4th run of the inning to give the boys a 4-1 lead after 1. That was enough support for starting pitcher Morneau (5 IP, 6 Ks) who scattered 3 hits and was supported by solid infield defense throughout the game. H-W was able to plate one more in the 5th but Middleton once again responded in their half with a leadoff double from Morneau (2-3, 2B, 2 R, RBI) and a RBI single from Roberto (3-3, R, 3 RBI) to maintain the 3-run lead. Figueroa (1 IP, 3 Ks) came on in relief in the 6th to close out the game and bring home the trophy! Congrats to the boys on a great tournament!!!

🤩ALL STAR UPDATE 🤩
The Middleton 10u All Stars began play in the Jimmy Fund tournament on Sunday night with a 15-4 win over Danvers American. The bats came alive in the 2nd when Middleton plated 8 runs on some timely hits and aggressive base running. It was a well balanced offensive attack for Middleton as every player scored at least 1 run. Bo Boutilier (2-3, 2 runs, 5 rbi's) and Bret Scarfo (2-2, 2 runs and 3 rbi's) paced the offense while Ethan Jackson, Alec Fiste and Gino Ferreira all added a hit apiece.

Middleton vs Ipswich 7/22

Middleton 10u All Stars improved to 2-0 in pool play of the Jimmy Fund tournament with a win over Ipswich on Wednesday night. Offensively, the team remained balanced with 10 players scoring at least 1 run and 5 players scoring 2 or more runs. They were discipined at the plate drawing 14 walks and aggressive on the base paths.

Pitching and defense were keys to the night with a quality start from Alec Fiste and solid relief from Michael Aldi. The 2 combined to allow only 1 hit, zero runs and 5 base runners in 4 innings of work. The highlight of the night was a 6-4-5-4 triple play to end the game.

Middleton resumes play tonight at 5:30 when they take on Beverly at Boudreau Field in Gloucester. Come on down and cheer the boys on!

**All Star Update** The Middleton 9's stayed hot last week, starting with a 7-0 win over Beverly where Justin Morneau (1.1 IP, 3 Ks) and Louie Roberto (4.2 IP, 6 Ks) combined to pitch a shutout while Teddy LeColst (2 out, 2 RBI single) and Dylan Figueroa (2 out, 2 RBI 3B) provided the key offense. They were back at it the following night, beating Hamilton-Wenham 9-5 behind strong pitching from Morneau (4.2 IP, 5 Ks) and Figueroa (1.1 IP, 2 Ks) and key defensive plays all over the field, especially a great catch in LF by Dante Grella to end a H-W rally in the 5th! The boys will be playing for the tournament championship tomorrow night, back at Tapley Park in Danvers at 7:30pm. Come down and cheer them on!!!

🌟ALL STAR UPDATE 🌟The Middleton 10's district all stars started pool play with a convincing 11-0 win over Danver American. The bats came alive with Dylan Figueroa (2-2, 3rbi, 2 runs) and Ethan Jackson (2-2, 2 RBI, 2 runs) leading the way. Justin Morneau, Teddy LeColst, Ben McComb, Cody Scarfo, Alec Fiste and Bo Boutilier all chipped in with a hit and run scored.

While the offense was potent, the story of the night was pitching and defense. Marco Cerendulo threw 4 impressive innings allowing no hits while striking out 5 and flashing glove work. The defense was solid behind Marco converting on all their opportunities.

The boys continue pool play today with a 3:00 game against Beverly at Tapley Park. Come on down and cheer the boys on!
