On Saturday, January 3, the Lee Moberly Museum was awash in money!

Coins from community collectors were on display, covering a number of tables. The coins were of many denominations, many years, and a variety of conditions. Proof sets were as shiny as the day they were issued while some buffalo-head nickels showed the signs of wear from across the years.

As if being surrounded by money wasn’t exciting enough, the Museum also had a surprise visit from the Middleton Fire Department. An unexplained alarm was sounding, and a fire truck and three firefighters were dispatched to try to determine the cause. That cause remains a mystery, but it eventually stopped; and the coins got a quick review before the crew headed back to the fire station.

Tomorrow is our Veterans Day Display! Drop off your memorabilia at the Lee Moberly Museum tonight, 6-7pm, or Saturday morning before 9:30am. Pickup is after 3pm!

Please bring uniforms, dog tags, medals, photos or other military memorabilia to share with others for a one-day display. You can bring your items to the Lee Moberly Museum Friday, 11/14/25, from 6:00-7:00 pm, or Saturday morning before 9:30.
