On June 22, 2026, the India-US Forum of Monroe Township (IFM), a nonprofit organization dedicated to community wellness and cultural awareness, hosted its annual International Day of Yoga celebration on June 22, 2026, at the Monroe Township Senior Center. This year’s event centered around the theme “Yoga for Healthy Aging,” emphasizing the role of yoga in supporting physical vitality, mental clarity, and emotional balance as we age.
Bringing together participants of all ages from across New Jersey, the evening program focused on mindful movement, pranayama, meditation, and laughter yoga.
The session was led by a fellow IFM patron and certified yoga instructor, Nidhi Pandya, and highlighted simple yet effective practices that can improve flexibility, strengthen the breath, reduce stress, and promote overall well-being. From young adults to seniors, attendees participated with enthusiasm, experiencing firsthand how yoga can be adapted for every stage of life. Many shared positive feedback on how the practice left them feeling lighter, calmer, and more energized.
The event concluded with words of gratitude from IFM President Hemant Patel and members of the Executive Team, who recognized the importance of community-led wellness initiatives. The gathering served as a reminder that healthy aging is not only about adding years to life, but life to those years.
