Michael Nichols was a Monroe Township Senior when he suffered a severe injury to his C5 vertebra on January 4, 2014 during a high school varsity game. Twenty eight years ago today Mike Nichols came into this world and instantly the world became a better place. I could go on and on about Mike but I will spare you all. Happy Birthday Son!! Lets hope our NY Rangers give you a birthday present with a series win. LOVE YOU!! Keep up the fight.

Today is the 9th January 4th since Mike suffered his Spinal Cord injury during his senior year playing in a High School hockey game. That day is a day that has left a mark on all that know him. Nine years later and I personally relive it everyday. That night was a nightmare for my whole family, mostly my courageous Son. Mike has grown in these last nine years into an amazing man. He faces his daily challenges with heart and determination that is second to none. Mike's will to live a full life is simply amazing to all that know him. He does not let his devastating injury get in the way of living his life to the fullest. I am so proud of him, words do no justice. Mike is not only my son, he is my inspiration, my hero. My sincerest thanks to all that have helped over the years!!!
