What a great meeting we had last week! The very talented and entertaining Hope Johnson was our guest speaker. Her trunk show was both spectacular and inspiring. We appreciated hearing the stories behind the many quilts that we have seen in various shows around the state. At the end of her talk, she walked us through her artistic process from concept on through to a finished quilt. Thank you, Hope!

Congratulations, Noreen!

We started our Show & Tell at this week’s guild meeting by viewing the progress made to date on our group quilt, a Dear Jane. Martha Keagle has been the project “instigator” and manager which involved 25+ members making the individual squares and border. We’re almost finished with the top and will soon move onto the quilting. This has been a fun group project!

The theme of our guild meeting this week was “Super Show & Tell”. We were invited to show our first quilts, our best or brightest quilts, quilts that we made, inherited or bought - especially the ones with fun stories behind them. Additionally, we were encouraged to bring quilt tops or projects that might need ideas or advice. “Bring the weird ones, the special ones, anything we haven’t seen lately.” After viewing the quilts, we watched a short Angela Walter’s video to encourage members to be brave in their home machine quilting techniques. And - we welcomed three new members! 🎉
