He adds that "Afghanistan is a misunderstood and misrepresented country, a place and people devastated by 32 years of continual conflict. And at the heart of this destruction are the souls of 34 million ordinary people trying to survive in this land of 'blood and dust'." http://www.theatlantic.com/infocus/2012/08/afghanistan-july-2012-faces-of-hope/100345/

7: “For generations, Afghanistan has been famous for its fighters and its battlefields.” But, things are in the process of dramatic positive change. Afghans Olympic Champions’ hard work created lots of hopes. For instance, “the newly-transformed Olympic Stadium in Kabul, where the Taliban once publicly executed women” fortunately, now Tahmina Kohistani, the only Afghan woman qualified for Olympic London 2012, used the Stadium to get ready for the Olympic event. This should be counted as a great change happened in recent years.

Our sincere congratulations with proud to Mz. Amina Azimi for her success of wining the" Emerging Peace Champions "of N-Peace Network of 2012 by competing with many others from different countries. A women being chosen to this position from
a country that women barely can raise their voice is a big achievements. Although, she was disabled from a rocket-propelled gr***de that crashed into her home and exploded at age 11 years old, but she helped hundreds of disabled people in Afghanistan by participating actively to many organizations helping landmine victims. Very proud of her!!! No doubt that Afghan women are capable of overcoming any obstacles!!!
