Today was a very special day at the Middlebury Town Pool.

Our Marlin Swim Team athletes and coaches, along with the staff and campers from Camp Kookamunga, took a few moments to recognize and thank the incredible members of our Department of Public Works Highway Division for their outstanding work preparing the pool for the 2026 season.

Many people see the finished product—a beautiful, safe, and welcoming pool—but few see the countless hours of hard work, problem-solving, and dedication that happen behind the scenes to make it possible. This year, our DPW crew went above and beyond to address significant issues and ensure that the pool could open safely and efficiently, not only for this summer but for many summers to come.

Because of their efforts, residents and visitors will be able to enjoy swimming lessons, swim team practices, family recreation, and countless summer memories.

On behalf of the Marlins, Camp Kookamunga, Middlebury Parks & Recreation, and the entire community, thank you to Matt and his DPW Highway crew for your professionalism, commitment, and hard work. Your efforts often happen out of the spotlight, but they are deeply appreciated and make a real difference in the lives of so many people.

Good Morning Midd Town Pool Community. Due to the forecasted weather of heavy rain, wind and Thunderstorms for today, the decision to close the pool today has been made. The Swim team Mock Meet for this evening is still on and subject to a different decision by the head coach who will be communicating to families.
