Americans sometimes will replace a circuit board, usually purchase a replacement unit. Most of the world replaces the circuit board and keeps the rest of the working unit. In some places, like Tamale, Ghana, techs actually take circuit boards and do board-level-repairs. In this photo collage, Karim is taking a power supply board for a high voltage unit and changing the circuits for it to power a lower voltage unit.

"Informal" recycling is not "Primitive" Recycling.

Robin and Good Point Recycling Good Point Recycling of Massachusetts - founder of the WR3A Fair Trade Recycling organization - has been named one of the Top 100 Recycling Experts in the World by Recycling International Magazine of Europe... third year in a row.

The editors said that the ironic thing was that we were recognized for making the list "much much harder for a white man to get onto" because of our work exposing the false narratives around "primitive" Tech Sector recyclers in Emerging Markets... who now share several places on these lists.

We hosted Agudor Kwaku Agabas in Middlebury VT, in between his trips to San Francisco and Kenya.

Gladly hosting Agabas, creator of AppCyclers, at our home in Middlebury. He's visiting Good Point Recycling and Good Point Recycling of Massachusetts (trip sponsored by our Fair Trade Recycling non-profit fund ). He's' based in Tamale, same as our partner Chendiba Enterprises Electronics

He'll be attending Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) session on solar Tuesday evening, before returning to see our secondhand solar panel installation at the new Good Point Hotel in Tamale.

Roberto Valenzuela of Retroworks de Mexico was a personal hero of mine. His passing last weekend is a big loss to the fair trade recycling community.
