Moments like these are why we do what we do.

Quiet moments like these provide opportunities to create positive associations between our actions and our feelings.

Listening to keynote speaker Dr. Bruce Perry talk about the Neurosequential Network today.
“Experiences tie things together and create associations and connections.” He told of an old study where they put rats into cold water to see how long it would take for them to drown. They averaged being able to swim for approximately 6-10 minutes before drowning. In another group, they would put the rats in the same water and after 2 or 3 minutes they would pull them out and put them back in their cages. Even after long periods of time out of the water, if they put those rats back into the water - they would swim for HOURS…..because they remembered that someone had pulled them out before. They had HOPE that it would happen again and so they kept swimming instead of giving up.” 😭 If we give students connection and positive experiences, they will have more HOPE and resilience in the midst of future hard things. The power of relational connectedness……

If donkeys could talk.
“Where you going with all those noodles?”
“What are they going to want us to do when they get there?” 🤣

Our team approach is what makes our therapy highly effective. The therapist, the equine specialist, and the horse. A quick staff meeting before the session begins….🫶🏼

Love is defined by actions not words. Our horses are willing to be in all sorts of situations to show their commitment to loving and helping kiddos.
