Join us this Friday for our final Music on the Porch of the season at the Unison Store.

Sarah Collins, Jonathan Vocke, David McKindley-Ward, and Unison’s own Zach Lester will be playing Traditional Irish and Old Time music from 6:00–8:30pm!

Come spend a fall evening in Unison with good music, good company, and one last night on the porch before we wrap up the season.

Have questions about Unison’s proposed Historic Overlay District?

Robin-Eve Jasper, Chair of the UPS Preservation Committee, will be at the Unison General Store every Sunday through September 20 from 11am to 1pm to share information about the project and answer questions from the community.

These Sunday sessions are a great opportunity to stop by, ask questions, and learn more ahead of Loudoun County’s community meeting on Tuesday, September 22 at 6:30pm at the Unison General Store.

The County meeting will focus on the development of design guidelines for the proposed Historic Overlay District in Unison.

We know there are questions about the project and what it could mean for our community, so please stop by and talk with Robin-Eve.

Heritage Day is getting closer!

Early Bird tickets for the 2026 Unison Heritage Day are $50 through September 15. Beginning September 16, tickets increase to $60.

Join us on Saturday, November 7 from 1–5 PM at the Unison General Store for an afternoon celebrating our little village and the community that makes it so special.

Music on the Porch returns to the Unison General Store on Thursday, September 17!

We’re excited to welcome Bess Putnam, the Blue Mountain Songbird, back to the porch. Bess is well known throughout our community and a crowd favorite, and we’re looking forward to having her with us for an evening of live music in Unison.

Come spend an early fall evening with friends and neighbors, enjoy some great music, and take in one of the best spots in the village.

TONIGHT’S MUSIC ON THE PORCH IS CANCELLED

With thunderstorms in the forecast during our setup and event window, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel tonight’s Music on the Porch.

We hate to miss an evening on the porch with our Unison community, but with an outdoor event, musicians traveling in, and no good way to safely work around thunderstorms, we’d rather make the call now than take the chance.

Thank you for understanding, and we’ll see you back on the porch soon!

Save the date! Heritage Day is back Saturday, November 7!

This is our biggest event of the year and our only major fundraiser, so we’re hoping for a BIG turnout. We’ll have fresh oysters on the half shell, BBQ, drinks, classic cars, kids’ activities, live and silent auctions, and live music from the Algorhythms Bluegrass Unit.

This year we’ll also be celebrating America 250th and, of course, the history of our little village.

We are currently looking for sponsors! Money raised at Heritage Day helps UPS take care of the Unison General Store, protect the historic and rural character of the village, support conservation efforts, and make sure Unison stays Unison for generations to come.

Tickets are $50 through September 15 and $60 after that. Kids 12 and under are free!

What a night.

From Furnace Mountain filling the village with incredible music, to neighbors catching up on the porch, to kids running around catching lighting bugs (and at least one very good dog named Rosie sporting a glow-stick bracelet), last night’s Music on the Porch was everything we love about Unison.

The turnout was fantastic, but what made the evening special wasn’t the crowd size. It was the simple act of coming together. In a world that often feels rushed and disconnected, there is something meaningful about spending a summer evening with friends, neighbors, and new faces gathered around live music.

Events like Music on the Porch remind us that community doesn’t just happen. It is built one conversation, one shared experience, and one summer evening at a time.

A huge thank you to Furnace Mountain for a wonderful performance and to everyone who came out to support the event.

Music on the Porch is free to attend, but it is only possible because of the generosity of those who support the Unison Preservation Society. A quick reminder before Music on the Porch this tomorrow!

We’re excited to welcome Furnace Mountain to Unison on June 18 at 6:30 PM for an evening of live music, neighbors, and summer on the porch.

For those planning to enjoy an adult beverage, UPS has secured a Virginia ABC Banquet Special Event License for the event. Guests are welcome to bring their own b**r or w**e.

A few simple reminders:
-BYOB is welcome! Guests may bring their own b**r and w**e.
-B**r and w**e only please - no liquor or mixed beverages.
-All alcohol must remain within the designated event area. Please do not take drinks into the street or surrounding areas.
-No alcohol may be consumed by anyone under 21.
Please drink responsibly and look out for one another.

Music on the Porch is free and open to everyone. If you’d like to support future events and preservation efforts in Unison, donations to the Unison Preservation Society are always appreciated.
