Who lovesd the 80's? IWho loved the 70's? am hoping to have a fundraiser this year for May Angels Treasure Them and thinking about a decade theme party!
This will be our first fundraiser since COVID and wanted to do something different. Sadly our ability to raise funds and help those in need has been severly impacted by COVID. Our Quarter Auctions and Bull Roasts were our main source of funding and since we have not been able to have them for obvious reasons, we simply do not have the funds to continue to help those that desperately need our help 😢.

I have to share this. This special young lady is someone that MATT helped when we first got started. She is now celebrating a year clean. While she may have relapsed, the most important thing is that she found the will to continue her fight. This made me cry and happy at the same time.
She had posted on her FB celebrating her one year and all I did was to tell her how proud I was of her. You have this TM!! ❤️❤️

Good morning and Happy Friday! In 2018 we formed MATT in rememberance of Matthew who lost his battle with addiction. Then in 2020 another tragedy hit our family when we lost Lauren. Our mission was, and still is, to help as many people possible that have the desire and will to live a sober life. I am proud to say that we have made a difference in many lives and our work is not done.
Sadly we have not been able to have any type of fundraisers due to COVID. While we were still able to provide assistance during these difficult times, our funds are now running low. We are looking into having a Quarter Auction later in the year, but unfortunately we will not be able to have a Bull Roast which was our biggest fundraiser. If you have any fundraising ideas please reach out
I have been on the fence about writing this post as we know what a challenging 15 months it has been for everyone, but especially for those in active addiction as well as those in recovery. Until we are able to move forward with our fundraisers, we would appreciate your consideration to donate to MATT. If you cannot donate we completely understand and ask that you continue to pray for those suffering.
There is a donate button on the May Angels Treasure Them FB page or you can visit our website and donate through PayPal. You can donate as a guest and do not need a Paypal account. We appreciate everyone that has supported us these last 3 years and look forward to seeing all of you again soon. Please feel free to share. ❤️❤️

Please say a prayer for the family and friends of Josh Fischer who lost his battle today. I met Josh through Lauren and he knew Matthew as well. I worked with Josh and his team many, many times when assistance was needed for someone seeking treatment
Josh was always very supportive of our organization in so many ways. From attending our fundraisers, printing our shirts, donating gifts for our auctions and so much more. If I needed help with placing someone, he was right there to assist and guide me. Josh had a heart of gold and loved his family and friends hard. Everything Josh did he did it hard. He was driven and on a mission.
Josh will be deeply missed and his legacy will always live on. Thank you for always being there for me and rest easy my friend. Hug Matt and Lauren for me. 😢🙏

Recently received an email from a young lady that we funded. To protect her privacy I have x'd out identifying information . This is why we do what we do. Please consider donating so that we may continue to help those that are helping themselves to live a sober life. No amount is too small. Thank you!
Hello,
I am so greatfull to you. I will not be working for awhile and I had no idea how I was going to pay for my rent here at Lxxus Recovery Center. Funding me for 2 weeks is more than I thought I would ever get. Again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I relapsed in March of 2020 and my new clean date is December 31, 2020.
When I came back to recovery and finally surrendered again and asked God to have his way in my life, it seems like everything is falling into place exactly how it is supposed to. Receiving assistance from May Angels was just another blessing.
I want to thank all of you for your continued support. 2020 was a year that all of us will never forget. Our lives have been changed for what seems like forever in ways that I know I could never imagine.
For our family 2020 was also the year that we lost our beloved Lauren. Lauren passed on to a better life on March 27, 2020. Lauren was very committed to our organization. She was adamant that we do what we could to help others in memory of Matthew. She always tried to get as many of her boat load of friends to our fundraisers and she always sold the majority of tables. She, along with others, worked her butt off at our events. Lauren was loved by many, and she loved many. Lauren will be forever missed.
Like many of you, Covid has also effected the non-profits ability to raise funds. Our organization is able to help those in need from the donations we receive and the money we raise at our events. We have continued to help those seeking our assistance, but our funds are running low. If you care to make a donation to help us continue to help others, you can visit our page and click the donate button. A PayPal account is not required. Any amount helps and if you cannot donate we understand and hope you will continue to support our mission. We are thinking of ways to raise money since Covid restrictions will probably keep us from having a fundraiser so if you have any suggestions, please let us know.
Stay save and thank you for your support.

Talk about timing. I have removed the name of the person we helped for privacy reasons. I remember when this person reached out lost and scared as he was desperately trying to find funding. I spoke with him for quite sone time as he was so broken.
It is not uncommon for us to receive emails from those we helped to just let us know how they are doing. Lauren use to love getting these follow up emails so I am sure she has that big beautiful smile on her face!
Stephanie,
This email is to thank MATT again for the rent scholarship gifted to me February of 2019. I am still In the same Sober Living Home, now called Your Choice, here in Cecil County. I have a home group, I have a sponsor I meet with weekly, (and attend many of the same meetings he does). I am working the steps thoroughly , typically attend 6 meetings a week and am involved in service work with several groups.
While it is my higher power (God), the litireture of AA, and the people of AA that keep me sober, living with other men in serious recovery is a true blessing!! We help hold one another accountable in a kind way and have so much sober fun together. I do not know if I would have been able to stay with the sober living house without the help of MATT, your direct efforts, and the generosity of your donors. Please share this with them as a thank you from me personally.
I am most grateful EVERY day for my sobriety. Thank you for your part in my 1 ½ years (thus far!) of my new way of life!! May Angels Treasure Them

On March 27, 2020, my daughter Lauren passed away suddenly. We are all shocked and saddened by this huge loss. There will be a private viewing on Friday with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date. I posted the following on my personal page and also wanted to share it here:
As many of you know, Lauren and the family started May Angels Treasure Them in 2018 to assist those in recovery after we lost Matthew. Since the inception of MATT, we have been able to donate thousands of dollars in rent scholarships to various recovery homes in the area. In addition we have provided clothing, food, medical co-pays, etc.
We have had a few discussions with the funeral home and expressed our dissatisfaction with how their website is designed to put a huge focus on planting a tree in memory of someone. While we understand that it is a wonderful and honorable thing to do, sadly it is also another way for the funeral home to make money. We also know that Lauren would have wanted donations to be made to MATT so that her legacy in helping others would carry on. Our only source of income to continue our fight to help those in need is solely through public donations.
We respect everyone's right to honor Lauren's memory in whatever way you choose and for those of you that have purchased a tree already, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Same for all of you that have donated to MATT.
You can visit our website at www.mayangelstreasurethem.org and choose the donate section from the menu to pay via Paypal. Checks can be made payabe to MATT and mailed to MATT 420 Tidewater Ln Middle River, MD 21220.
Thank you again for all of the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.

On August 6, 2017 our lives changed forever. Our beloved son and brother, Matthew, passed away from an overdose after suffering many years with addiction and mental health issues. We saw first-hand the impact that these diseases had, not only on Matthew, but our family as well. With Matthew’s passing, we knew we had to help make a difference.
Matthew was fortunate to have a loving and supporting family...many do not. Our goal is to give those seeking to live a sober and productive life a chance to do so. Seeking help is the first step in that process. Finding the right resources, such as a reputable sober living facility and IOP, can be overwhelming and challenging tasks after completing an inpatient program. We have partnered with programs in the greater Baltimore area to hopefully make that process easier. We also offer assistance to those that may need clothing, food, etc.
If you are in need of assistance, or know someone who is, please contact us at 443-986-2099 or 443-986-2588. You may also email us at [email protected].
If you are a registered sober living facility or IOP, please contact us for additional information to join our referral list.
