If you know someone who may be interested in becoming a police officer or police cadet, have them sign up today for Saturday’s event. We will have a Q&A panel and attendees will meet with members of some of our specialized units.
Looking for a new challenge? The MDTA Police is recruiting for its next Officer Candidate class, and successful applicants will join a unique law enforcement agency filled with opportunity. The final testing events for the next class are Saturday, June 20 (8 a.m.), and Saturday July 11 (7 a.m.), at MDTA Police Headquarters (4330 Broening Highway). The June 20 session is a unique "Women in Law Enforcement" event that will include an opportunity for attendees to meet women who currently serve with the MDTA Police, but all applicants are welcome to attend and complete the testing process.
Testing includes a written test covering reading, writing, and arithmetic skills and a physical agility test comprised of sit-ups, a 150-pound weight drag, a 1.5-mile run, and a flexibility test. More information about both tests and reporting information is available at the website listed below.
Entry-level MDTA Police Officers earn a salary of $71,258 upon graduation from the police academy. The salary climbs to $75,541 upon completion of a two year-probationary period and with step increment. A variety of other salary incentives and benefits like tuition assistance and an assigned vehicle program are available.
