All 2024 orders were packed and filled by some very helpful volunteers last month. The classroom kits were shipped last week to school districts who ordered across Long Island at no cost to them. Each kit contains 30 Boater and Water Safety Activity Books, 30 Parent Letters, and 30 stickers along with a teacher guide and a pdf version of our book on our web site. This year almost 400 kits were ordered by 19 school districts! Thank you to all the schools that participated in our program this year. Please continue to order these kits each year. It is so important to reach all children and remind them every year of Boater and Water Safety. Emails go out to administrators mid-winter with ordering information or you can check our web site. Orders are shipped one time per year.
Over the last few years, we reached over 50,000 students with our Boater and Water Safety Classroom Kits.

With generous fundraising through our nonprofit organization that was started in Dominic’s name, we created this classroom program. Our program is recommended by America’s Boating Club/United States Power Squadrons. There is no cost to the schools to order these kits.

Boater and Water Safety Classroom Kits! This email was sent to every school district superintendent and principal on Long Island two weeks ago and this week. Orders are due today but we will take orders through this Friday. Check out the education section of our web site in the link in our bio. Is your school district ordering our free program?

For over five years in the spring, we have shipped our free Boater and Water Safety Classroom Kit to school districts across Long Island. Our classroom program came about due to a jet ski accident on May 20, 2012. We have been devastated by the loss of our 14 year old family member, Dominic. Dominic had a boating license and was wearing a life jacket. We want all children to know the essential boater and water safety lessons. We felt the best way we could reach the most children is through their classrooms. With generous fundraising through our nonprofit organization that was started in Dominic’s name, we created this classroom program. Our program is recommended by America's Boating Club/United States Power Squadrons. It also includes access to our award winning life jacket safety video.

Please take a moment to browse our education page on our website. https://www.dominicmemorialfund.org/education You can also find our order link on that page. Many school districts order our Boater and Water Safety Classroom kits every year for their classrooms. Each classroom kit includes a paper copy of the teacher guide that is also featured online with links to all resources. Our education page includes copies of every page of our book (pdf and Google files), links to related web sites, and access to our award winning life jacket safety video which all can easily be displayed on an electronic whiteboard. Our program is user friendly for the classroom teacher and is adaptable to all elementary grades. Many lessons can be stemmed off of an idea from our guide incorporating ELA, math, science, or social studies. Please forward this email to your administrators and teachers to share with them what a valuable and life-saving tool this can be in the classroom.

Please browse our web site to find out about our non-profit organization. Here are some important facts about our classroom program:

-Please complete the online order form by March 20, 2024.

-These kits are free to your school and your students. Through our generous contributors, we are able to provide this at no cost to you.

-Since 2017, this program has been distributed to over 40,000 students in over 30 school districts.

-Each classroom kit contains 30 Boater and Water Safety Activity Books, 30 Parent Letters, and a teacher guide that is also available online with clickable links. A shareable digital copy will be included for virtual learning with all orders. You can view the digital copy at our website link above at any time.
-All kits will be shipped to your school by early May.

Thank you to all the schools that have participated in the past. We hope that you sign up again. This is an important topic that should be repeated each year. If you are a school that hasn’t participated, we hope you order our classroom kits this year for your students. All orders are due by March 20, 2024.

Thank you,
The Monat/Martinelli Family - Family of Dominic Trionfo

*** Save the date***
Our 10th Annual Dom’s Day will be held on Sunday October 8th at 11am at Longwood High School!
This is a free community event!
We have brought this event to the Longwood community in honor of Dominic who died in a family boating accident at 14 years old. Dominic was a Longwood High School student. We raise money to promote boater and water safety and raise money for local scholarships.
We hope to see you all there.

We are looking for any local businesses or organizations to donate a basket or gift card for our raffle auction. You can contact us and I will organize pickup.

On Wednesday, we presented the Dominic Trionfo Pride, Spirit, & Heart Award. It was presented to two seniors at the Longwood High School Senior Athlete Awards Banquet from The Dominic Memorial Fund. The award was renamed to include Dominic’s name 11 years ago. Thank you to Lori and Joe Cebul for presenting our award in memory of their nephew, Dominic. We appreciate Longwood for choosing the recipients for us as they do every year. Thank you also for all who support our fundraising efforts. These awards are one of the many things that we get to continue in Dominic’s memory. 💚 (Hopefully we can get more pictures to post.)
