To all my twigs heading back to school today… 💜

Some of you I’ve watched grow up right in front of me. I’ve packed your backpacks, celebrated your birthdays, watched you grow taller and move up grades… and somehow, every first day still gets me. 🥹

Be kind. Be brave. Try your best. Sit with the kid who looks lonely. And always remember that a grade will never define how smart, special or capable you are.

From my littlest twigs starting their very first year to my big kids who somehow aren’t so little anymore… Aunt Sam is SO proud of you. 💜

Now please stop growing because I cannot handle it. 😭

We will have broccoli, cabbage, potatoes and zucchini available while supplies last.

Our Birthday Program request form is now open for children with birthdays in October ONLY.

Please note: Any request submitted for a birthday outside of October will be discarded.

This program is intended for families experiencing financial hardship who may otherwise be unable to provide birthday gifts or birthday essentials for their child. We kindly ask that you only apply if your family truly needs this assistance so that our limited resources can reach the children who need them most. 💜

🥛🌽 LARGE FOOD DISTRIBUTION TODAY! 🍅🥔

A HUGE thank you to Long Island Cares for providing all of the food for today’s distribution!

💜 Because of their generosity and partnership, we have an incredible amount of fresh food to share with our community today.

📍 Branches Community Center
588 Middle Country Rd. Middle Island

⏰ Truck currently expected around 2 PM

We will have fresh corn, cabbage, tomatoes, potatoes and grapes, along with OVER 200 pre-packed dairy boxes containing milk, sour cream and cheese! 🧀🥛

🛍️ PLEASE BRING SEVERAL BAGS! We have a LOT to hand out today.

🥛 The dairy boxes are pre-packed and must be taken as a complete box. We cannot separate the items.

🚗 PLEASE PARK RESPONSIBLY. Park in an available parking spot or legally along Middle Country Road. Please DO NOT block the pizzeria, hair salon, walkways, entrances or other parked vehicles. We want to be respectful of our neighbors while keeping everyone safe.

💜 Please be patient with our volunteers while the truck is unloaded and everything is set up for distribution. We will move as quickly as we can!

The truck is currently expected around 2 PM. If Long Island Cares gives us any changes to the arrival time, we will post them immediately, so please check our page before heading over.

Today is going to be a BIG one! Thank you again to Long Island Cares for helping us fill tables, fill bags and get fresh food directly into the hands of our community. 🌳💜

Over 1,000 children. 🎒💜

That number still takes our breath away.

Our Back-to-School event would never have been possible without the incredible businesses, organizations, teams, volunteers, sponsors, and donors who stepped up and said, “How can we help?”

A huge thank you to the Suffolk County Police Department, 7th Precinct Community Unity Team, Allied, Walmart, the Jane Guido Foundation, Mastic Volunteer Ambulance Company, FragranceNet.com, Operation Impact and the MANY local sports teams, community organizations, businesses, families, and individuals who donated backpacks, school supplies, funds, time, and helping hands.

Every backpack handed out was more than just school supplies. It was one less worry for a parent and one more child walking into school feeling prepared, confident, and excited for a new year.

More than 1,000 children were helped because this community showed up.

Also, thank you to Longwood Central School District for their last minute use of their Junior High gym. We are forever grateful for your partnership.

There are simply not enough words to express our gratitude. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in our mission, supporting our families, and continuing to remind us just how powerful a community can be when we take care of one another. 💜🩵

🎉 Happy Birthday to our incredible Blessing Box Coordinator, Heather! 💜

If you’ve ever received a Blessing Box from Branches, there’s a very good chance Heather had a hand in making it happen.

Heather oversees our entire Blessing Box program which entails coordinating and scheduling hundreds of families, working directly with our care coordinators and social workers to make sure their clients receive assistance, managing the amazing team of volunteers who help make it all possible, and ensuring the program runs smoothly while following all of our policies and procedures.

It is a HUGE undertaking, and she handles so much of what happens behind the scenes with dedication, organization, compassion, and a genuine desire to help our families.

Heather, thank you for the countless hours, messages, schedules, moving pieces, and probably a few headaches 😂 that you take on for Branches and the families we serve.

We are so grateful to have you as part of this crazy Branches family. 💜

Happy Birthday, Heather! We hope you feel as appreciated today as you truly are every day. 🎂
