Every Story Deserves to Be Heard.

When a child shares that they have been hurt, the response matters.

Dunebrook's Child Advocacy Center provides a safe, child-focused environment where children can share their experiences with specially trained professionals while receiving support every step of the way.

Our Child Advocacy Center works closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes law enforcement, the Department of Child Services, prosecutors, medical professionals, and mental health providers to ensure children and families receive the care and support they need.

In 2025, the Child Advocacy Center conducted more than 530 forensic interviews, helping children begin the path toward healing while reducing the trauma of having to tell their story multiple times.

Meet the Heart Behind Healthy Families

Every day, Dunebrook's Healthy Families team walks alongside parents and caregivers during some of the most important years of a child's life.

They celebrate milestones, answer questions, provide encouragement, connect families to resources, and offer support when it is needed most.

Whether they are conducting home visits, helping a new parent navigate challenges, providing safe sleep education, supporting developmental growth, or connecting families with community resources, our Family Support Specialists are dedicated to helping children and families thrive.

Their work is built on trust, compassion, and the belief that every family deserves support.

Every Story Deserves a Safe Beginning.

At Dunebrook, we know that strong families build strong communities.

Through our Healthy Families program, parents receive support, encouragement, education, and connections to resources from pregnancy through their child's fifth birthday, all at no cost to participating families.

In 2025 alone, Healthy Families served 1,079 individuals across Northwest Indiana.

Just this year, our team has already:
-Completed 736 home visits
-Supported more than 130 enrolled families
-Provided safe sleep education and Pack 'n Plays to families in need
-Connected with more than 500 community members through outreach events

Every visit, every conversation, and every connection helps families build brighter futures for their children.

Because every child deserves a story filled with safety, support, and opportunity.

Every child has a story.

Some stories begin with uncertainty. Some include challenges no child should have to face. And many are rewritten because someone cared enough to help.

For more than 35 years, Dunebrook has been strengthening families and helping children find safety, healing, and hope. Today, more than 54,000 children and family members across Northwest Indiana rely on Dunebrook programs each year.

As we begin our Every Child Has a Story campaign, we invite you to join us in helping write the next chapter for children and families in our community.

Is your child starting school soon? Help them build the confidence and social skills they need for a successful start!

Join Dunebrook's Healthy Families and Public Education teams for Ready, Set, School, a fun and interactive program designed for children ages 4-5 and their grown-ups. Together, we'll practice the skills children need to be kind, independent, and safe as they prepare for school. Plus, yes, there will be recess!

-FREE school supplies and books at every class!
