Michigan City Elks Lodge 432

Members of Michigan City Elks Lodge 432 not only volunteer in our Weekend Backpack Program to help feed local children - they also donated $8,000 to the program!

This was made possible by a grant through the Elks National Foundation, which was awarded in January by Elks members.
Volunteers of this program help pack about 450 bags of food every week throughout the school year. This food is distributed to children in Michigan City Area Schools in grades Pre-K through high school to help combat food insecurity.

Elks Members and Salvation Army representatives are as follows from left to right: Mark and Teresa Hubertz, Major Dale Simmons, Larry Wilson, Major Becky Simmons, Jane Wilson and Rick Voss.

Special thank you to ER Catherine Dickerhoff for completing the grant applications. Without her continued support and commitment, none of this or past grants would be achievable.

Michigan City Elks Lodge 432 Hoop Shoot

Kids from ages 8 to 13 as of 4/1/25 are invited to participate in the Michigan City Elks Lodge 432 Hoop Shoot.

Date: January 4, 2025 at 11 a.m.
Location: Queen of All Saints gym

Registration will take place prior to the Shoot and requires the signature of a parent or guardian.

The Michigan City Elks Lodge #432 had a fantastic evening participating in the Moose trunk or treating festivities!

On Saturday, 30 Elks from the Great Northwest met at Camp Millhouse to help them prepare for the summer. We cleared trails, cleaned the pool, raked leaves, pulled weeds and various other jobs. We did in two hours what would've taken them weeks to do. We had members from Whiting, Highland, Michigan City Lodge 432, South Bend Elks 235 and Plymouth Elks 2548 helping. They really proved the the Great Northwest District is a "Pillar of Elkdom!!!!" So far this year, the Indiana Elks Association, Inc. has donated over $12,750 to Camp Millhouse.

Michigan City Elks Lodge 432 was honored to spend an afternoon with the residents of Silver Birch Retirement home. Thanks to a grant from Elks National Foundation we were able to purchase slippers and pajamas for their residents and serve them a pizza/pop luncheon as well as interact with them in fellowship. It was truly a wonderful afternoon.

Silver Birch Comments: This Thursday, we were delighted to host a Pajamas & Pizza Party made possible through the generosity of our Elks Club! Catherine and Dave from the Elks joined us in serving pizza and soda to an incredible turn out of residents, all dressed in warm, comfy pajamas and slippers provided to them by the Elks as part of a grant that was awarded to our community (thank you Catherine for your hard work in making this happen!). So many residents came down to partake in the festivities and thank the Elks team that we had to commandeer not just one but TWO other activity rooms to accommodate everybody. Between being one of the top contributors to our annual Angel Tree and this wonderful gift they have given our residents, we are so proud to call the Elks our partners and friends!

We had a great crowd for the Karstens' Club Challenge Chili Cook Off at the D.A.V .Chapter 23 of Michigan City, Indiana" on Saturday! Thank you to our board, volunteers, judges, and clubs for all their hard work for this event's success.

Congratulations to Michigan City Elks Lodge 432 Gratitude Grant recipient, Interfaith Community PADS, Inc. The men and women's shelter in Michigan City received a $2,500 grant to be used to help replace their drafty front doors.
